I'm looking to get notification preview on lockscreen (like ios5). I want the phone to turn on, display notification preview and go back to sleep.

This will avoid me to unlock the phone to realize an unnecessary email. I achieved this some what with widget locker and executive assistant but didn't look very elegant. Is there a better solution?

I have executive assistant application. It shows me emails, text, twitter/facebook notifications, calendar events, tasks etc

did you even read man? Lol. They already use that one. They are liking for something better

I have free version of EA. I implemented it through executive assistant, widget locker and gmail popup. Will post a screen shot soon.

Here is the solution I found. Install executive assistant widget onto widget locker (lock screen app). I removed all the tabs in executive assistant and replaced the summary screen tab icon with a transparent blank icon.
I setup an app called "Gmail Popup" to light up the screen during email notification. Here is a screen shot of my setup.

Does this only work with chompsms? I can't get Samsung's native sms app to preview on my lockscreen.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Android Central Forums

Tried your solution, i made something wrong, not working for me, please write a step by step instruction

thank you in advance

avinasht1- Nice setup. I'm also trying to replicate but dont quite grasp the "transparent icon" or the "load onto Widget locker". Would be great if you can help a newbie through the process.

Thanks!

What you've done per your picture looks pretty close to the shot of the iPhone - exactly what are you looking for that this setup isn't giving you? "Not elegant enough" isn't very descriptive, what's wrong with the way it looks?

How did you move the gmail widget to the middle of the screen? Thanks.:)

Well, there's a problem. I can only get the email icons to set up horizontally, not vertically. This set up really drains the battery. Gmail Popup freezes the screen, and sometimes brings back the original lock screen...IMHO, it's not worth the trouble, sorry.:'(
