Email notification sound?

Can someone help me change the email notification sound?

I searched everywhere but cannot find it.

Are you using the stock mail app or something else?

Stock email app. I'm not opposed to trying a new one but haven't felt the need to experiment since I just use basic functionality.

Hmm, i use the gmail app and to change the sound on that, you just open the mail, push menu, go to the More section, then setting and scroll down a little to find the ringtone option. I'm sure it is somewhere similiar in the stock app.

I'm using Hotmail with the stock app. There does not appear to be a ring tone setting, which surprises me.

You could always just change the defailt notification sound on the phone I guess. Or see if Hotmail has their own app which might have more options.

Oddly enough, the default notification sound does NOT control the email notification; I've tried it a few times already. I will look into the Hotmail app.

From the home screen, press the personalize button. Scroll down to the "Personalize Sound" section. Choose "Notification Sound". Select "Email". Select desired sound.

Ah ha! There it is! Not sure why I didn't see this before. I think I was confused because there are too many places where notifications can be set; example: text msg has its own sound setting, but it can also be changed under the Personalize menu. I guess it's one of the downside of HTC Sense skin.

It took me a while to find it. I was trapped by the "Sound set" page which allows you to create new sound sets, and when you click on one, it shows you the selected ringtones and allows you to play them, but doesn't give you any ability to change them. Once I was fixated on that page, there was no reason to look at the other pages. I just kept trying to figure out what I was missing on that page.

For those who have Launcher pro, you can't find it unless you go back to sense?
