Email notification text going to car over bluetooth

Since the Pie update, I am getting notification text on my car's screen (2013 Prius) that says "New Email", a pause, and then "New Emailfrom" with nothing after the "from". There is no space between EMail and from". I don't see an option anywhere to control sending an email notification to a Bluetooth device. I am using the "Read Text 2me" app for controlling text messages to Bluetooth devices. Any ideas how to disable this?

In the phone's Bluetooth settings for my car, the "Call audio" and "Media audio" are greyed out and set to "off". I can toggle them "on" but they immediately turn off.

My car is also displaying text for whatever last media app was used upon connection. For example, if I last viewed a YouTube video, it will show up as text on the car's screen. It doesn't play any audio. I only want to play music via Spotify in the car. This also started with Android Pie. It used to only play music from Spotify and would start from the last song that I played. What is causing this?
