Sorry for such a trivial question but where do I change the email sound? Right now it is the same as my text and on my Droid X I was able up heave a different sound.

Assuming you still use the factory email app - open your email account, menu, settings, notifications, select ringtone, and change it from default to whatever you want.

When I hit settings yet comes up with a menu that only has general preferences listed. Then when I select that I have 3 options Singh none of them are sound notification.

Go into email...where you can see your emails. Push the menu button, then settings, then notification sound. It's there, I just checked

I was trying to figure out the same thing - - is it because it's gmail that we can't change the sound?

I'm the opposite, I only like to have sound for calls/texts. For email I just like the blinking notifications.

Y'all could always download Maildroid (my preference) or K-9 and manage your email sounds through there.

It may be there for you but it is not there for me. This is jacked up!!

I'll bet you anything that it's there. Are you referring to the GMAIL app, or the EMAIL app? It is different depending on which app, but you can change the sound for both. I've changed the sound of both of mine.
