Email sync update schedule after latest OTA.

Hey All,

I was curious if anyone else noticed the following behavior after the latest OTA, or am I just crazy?

I have my email sync update schedule set up so that peak time is 7am to 10pm. My email.accounts are setup to sync every 15 min during peak, and manual sync in off-peak (so I can sleep, and also so I don't piss off my pregnant wife). After the OTA, my tb is syncing in off-peak time, however when o check in settings it shows "manual" for the update schedule.

I'm using the default mail app. Not rooted. No task killers installed. It was working before the OTA.

Anyone else notice anything similar?

Not the same thing. But The backup assistant is now syncing every day now, and I asked it to backup between 12 midnight to 6am and it still updates at 8am for some reason. Personally I wish there was a way to disable it while being non rooted. Sorry I can't help with your situation.

I did notice that after the OTA (can't remember if it was OTA MR1 or 2) my sync times were changed. I went back in an reset them and sync has been fine ever since. Have you tried reseting them? Just set them to something else. Then set them back (I'd also restart just for GPs) and see how it goes.

I have tried rebooting, but I haven't tried modifying the times yet. I'll give that a try and see how it goes tonight.

Mine has always synced when it's not supposed to. I don't want my work email to sync after I leave work at 4:00, but it will sync through the night and buzz at me. I set it to manual at 4:00. It has bugged me since the day I got my phone on opening day (March 17th). I don't think it's just this update, however the update may have awakened the bug for others.

Just wanted to send out a quick update on this situation. I tried changing my peak times for the sync update schedule and rebooted. It still synced my email accounts during off-peak time even though it was set to manual sync.

disappointment that it still did not work. But wait, that seems odd, all my accounts only synced once during off-peak time. Annnnnnd, they just happened to sync at the same time that the Verizon Backup Service tried to sync. Coincidence? Probably, but I'm going to change the sync schedule for the backup and see if it works tonight.

I get no email notifications at all after the update. Worked just fine before the update. Everything is set up the way it should be. Thanks Verizon/HTC for forcing the upgrade on me and messing this up...

Yes Triese, my email is also screwed up. I have it set to only sync once in the morning and it does fine during the dy but syncs several times in the night. Before the update I had it set for manual sync only but cant even do that now.
Hopefully someone will figure this out.
