Samsung Fascinate with built in email client. Configured my POP account and now it's been downloading (pulling) every message in my in-box. I've got thousands so this I don't want.

How can I set it up to only pull in those that are unread on my mail server?

your best bet is to set up your email imap instead of pop.

You can setup the email client to only download (to the phone) 1 days worth of emails. There are other DL options also so explore them and see what works best for you.

if you set up the email pop the email will actually be downloaded to your phone. if you set up the email up imap the email will be viewed and not downloaded. the phone will save a certian amount of email but not all. it takes up much less memory and what you do to one imap client you do to all clients viewing that email address.

IMAP is what I wanted. Not only does it take up less space but I have all my sub-folders (of which there are a lot) there for me just like on my web client.

Thanks!
