Coming from a Blackberry to an EVO 4g. I guess that's obvious since I'm in this Forum.
I used to assign emails to my Tasks or Calendar.
The Software guys were Empower for Blackberry. The app was Email viewer pro.

Is there an app that allows that kind of integration between emails and the included Tasks and Calendar?

Also can I select all my calendars somehow when making an entry?
MS Exchange
Comcast
Google

Ha! Why do I have 3 calendars?
Thanks Gents

So my search shows there is a software need here. There are a bunch of people jumping off the BB ship for a number of reasons. They will be looking for similar functionality. If I remember I paid a lot for that empower program. Android really misses the mark for those of us who rely on our phones for.
I'm so new to this it may be in front of my eyes. The flip side is this EVo is fantastic in many ways.

Thanks. Didymus. After reading the Touchdown Home page that looks promising. Evidently this is a huge task to integrate mail calendar tasks. Touchdown works in the MS exchange system only.

desperate to convert emails into tasks

I came from BB and palm a year ago to the upscale droid life :)

I'm still so frustrated at not being able to convert emails into tasks and assinging contacts to specific tasks for example. How can Android apps not offer one of the most obvious productivity features to its business users.

I'll look into Touchdown now.

On blackberry you have pocketinformant and agendus that allowed one to convert emails into memos, tasks, events while attaching contacts to all of them or alarms, etc.

PocketInformant has come out with 1.0 which is almost nothing compared to its developed apps on the other platforms.

Geez, I confirmed Touchdown doesn't work with gmail.

What a HUGE weakness in the android market not being able to convert emails into tasks or events. It is so pathetic that it is surreal.

+1 same need if a programmer hear us
Need a contextual menu mail to calendar and to task converter with parse feature (mail body in note, object in title...)
