Emails stopped working on Moto G4 Play

I work for an organisation and we have about 20-30 Moto G4 Play phones.
For no reason at all, at the end of August, they all just stopped working with email.
No changes have been made to the accounts.
The accounts are all Exchange Prem.
We use Outlook on the phones and they all just stopped working and kept prompting for credentials.
We have FR the phones but this has made no difference.
I tried to contact Motorola but they deny any changes on their end.
Unable to add the accounts on gmail as gmail says we dont have access to sync to the server.

If anyone could offer any help, this would be greatly appreciaited.

What happens if you remove the email account from a phone, then try to add it back again to the stock Email app? (Or is the Gmail app the stock email app?)

We have removed the accounts and added them back on the phone but that did not work.

However for some reason, Outlook is accepting the accounts now?? O.o
No idea why it stopped on several devices at the same time.

Any idea why the sync contacts option might be missing at all?

Not sure either -- maybe it was a server issue?

Where are you looking? The Accounts section of the system settings?
