This is such a newb question that I am embarrassed to ask because I SHOULD know this....here goes...

Sending and receiving MMS, is that data used against your data plan or is that included in the "unlimited text" feature with Verizon? I know its sent and received using data but not sure if its deducted from your data plan.

I'm pretty sure it's from your data plan. The unlimited texting probably refers only to SMS.

I'm still on unlimited data, so I haven't really cared, but as far as I know, MMS pictures do not count toward your data. It counts as a text, so if you have unlimited texts, then you're safe. Now, if you choose to email those pictures or videos, then yes, they count against your data. However, as for anything, I'd recommend contacting VZW and ask them to make sure that they don't count.

I think Patrick Schroedl's Verizon link confirms it. Unless that only refers to MMS messages on featurephones.

Thanks guys. I'm gonna call big red and I'll let ya know.

Here in Ireland, mms is not covered under my allowance /unit plan so we get charged extra for every mms sent. We get unlimited sms, calls and data plans but they don't include mms. These are charged seperately at approx €1 per mms.
