Hi all,

I recently went from a S9 to an iPhone X, I got sick of the lag on the Samsung. I prefer Android over IOS, however, wanted peoples views on EMUI and the performance?

I am looking at getting the P30 Pro, however, not sure if they have any issues with performance/lag? I appreciate that it is a high spec phone, however, so was the S9 and the lag got really bad on that at times.

Thanks in advance

I've had plenty iPhone's and plenty Samsung Galaxy's. Note 8 being the last and yeah the Samsung definitely sees a slow down after 3-4 months. After the Note 8 I came over to Huawei with the Mate 10 Pro and now upgraded to the Mate 20 Pro. Emui isn't everyone's cup of tea, it's a lot like Samsung's UI but has a lot more battery optimisations built in. One thing you won't find with Emui is any slowdown in performance the longer you have it. My Mate 10 Pro was as fast as the day I bought it even after 14 months and my Mate 20 Pro feels even better. You won't be dissapointed with the performance.

Thanks for the response. I must am currently doing some research into EMUI as never used it so want to see what its about.

Thanks again, good to hear I wouldn't suffer with any lag over time.

Huawei devices don't typically suffer from lag, EMUI has been optimized to stay as fast and battery efficient as possible.

The great thing with the P30 Pro is that it takes this to a new level with its new EROFS File System in EMUI9.1 that has made EMUI even faster and more fluid.

You don't need to worry, Huaweis never lag. Lag doesn't exist period my Mate 9 backup phone runs like day one. More smooth and fluid in the long term than iPhones.

The only performance lag I have now is the scrolling with Flipboard app and loading fo magazines and news on there compared to the iPhone it seems slower for some reason.

I'm coming from a Pixel 2 XL and have had the phone only for about 3-4 days now and have noticed zero lag with the 8GB ram / 256 GB version. And I'm running Nova Launcher set up to emulate my stock Pixel, so if you're concerned about their software, don't be.

With Nova do you lose EMUI features like screen recording etc?
