So, I'm thinking that a Mate 10 or Mate 10 Pro may be my next phone in a couple of months, but I've read some thing about EMUI that slightly puts me off.

What experiences have people had? Good and bad would be appreciated!

Thanks

It's really bad, without going into too much detail I'm still trying to get the device set up right. Something as simple as setting separate notification sounds for messaging and calendar are difficult on this device. The stock calendar is garbage and the launcher is terrible as well. I tried running Nova and that helps a lot but overall they have a long way to go before they catch up to One Plus or Samsung. The selfie cam takes really good pics if you like looking like a China doll.

I am using emui on my honor 8 and while it is a little different , it certainly is fine for me. Good enough for anyone who has used other Android devices, imo. Although the honor 8 is on the older emui so there could be changes that I am not familiar with.

The older EMUI like I had on my Mate 9 is pretty good, the newer version is even more bloated.

Uh oh. That doesn't sound good. They did good going from 4 to 5 on my Huawei devices. But none are on 8 yet

Using it on the Mate 10 Pro it's super great, really fast, feature rich and customizable, looks nice too, much better than stock.

This is not true, i am on EMUI 8 having used 7 on the mate 9 and 8 is way better in every way, things are easier to find settings in the right area, less bloatware

That is definitely not good. Hopefully they will make it closer to emui 7 in a future update

Emui is different I admit coming from stock android on pixel phones, having hidden the bloat and disabled most of it and got used to emui I find it very good now as I cleared my head of well this phone does it this way etc, but emui is different but I really like it now even with the quirks, so glad to have sold my pixel xl 2 and HTC u11 now for this phone.

Why did you sell your pixel 2 xl for the mate 10 pro?

Pixel had to be replaced under warranty, they are fast on updates but they release the bugs quick too, seem slow on testing, screen was horrid on xl2 and when the speaker played up again I sent it back.

Nice, i might pop into CPW today and get the Mate 10 pro. Having had a nexus 6p with horrible issues as well google just don't seem to do hardware well.

That 100 quid off signed the deal for me, as with any phone brand you will always find people that love it or hate it. Just like marmite :)

yeah I have the mate 9 and love the build and battery life even after a year still very strong 6-8 sot still smooth, no lag

Did you disable a lot of stuff on you pixel 2 xl and HTC u11 as well?

If you didn't have the screen problem and then speaker problems then would you have sent it back?

Did your Google Huawei 6p have the dreaded random reboot problem that I hear so much about?

How much did the phone cost, after the 100 quid discount?
