Emulate APP on PC for data entry

Is it possible to run some sort of emulator or app that would allow an app on my android device to be controlled from a PC?

I was thinking AirDroid, but I don't see the options I am looking for...

I screwed up a backup and now have to re-enter a whole bunch of data, and it would be much easier to do it via a mouse and keyboard rather than having to use my fingers on the screen.

APPs, Emulators, rooted or not, any advice is appreciated.

Search for screencast, its run on the PC and connects to the phone its a little laggy but should work

I tried that app, but unless I am missing something, it will record what is currently on the android screen for playback at a later time.

What I need is to be able to control my device on my pc as if it were actually my device. I know that AMAZON at some point lets you try an app on your pc before buying, that is kind of what I am looking for. The ability to run an app on my device through my pc.

Have a look at this I broke my screen in my last phone and this is what I used till I got a replacement http://code.google.com/p/androidscreencast/
