DL'ing now thanks for the link hopefully it works for me too. Just switched from the Droid Pro from VZW. New to Android all together. Again thanks. Will post my results.
 
No prob. I'm glad i found it too. Make sure to enable USB debugging and choose charge only don't mount the SD. Also use shell root not root. I made that mistake the first time and it didn't work. Then when its done don't unplug the phone and hit the enable sideload option. Reboot and you're good to go :-)

If it's anything like the last update, then I'll try sideloading, cuz I still haven't gotten it.
 
I guess I'm a bit confused on this one. I thought the recent update from AT&T would allow non-market apps to be installed? I have CM7 so it's not a big deal however I have a friend at work who was asking about the ability to install the Amazon App Store.

Has AT&T still not enabled this?

no, they haven't yet it's part of the update on the 16th.
