Enable sounds after screen timeout

I am looking to replace the majority of my laptop use with a Nexus 7. An issue that has been brought to my attention is that only native google apps have sound once the screen times out. I plan to use the teamviewer app along with the Nexus 7 to replace the laptop. However, if there is not a way to allow the screen to timeout and keep playing sounds through teamviewer as they occur on the remote pc this will cause a problem. Does anyone know if there are settings to change this or if it is possible?

Not sure I am understanding you. 3rd party music players for instance will continue to play music when the screen times out. It depends on how the app is written.
