I got it to work! I am setting up my phone now. Question, how do updates work for me now? I believe I have Android 10, can I get Android 11?

They on unlocked version schedule, u can can check for update after setting up.

Hi, welcome to AC!
These steps will work if you want to go on the unlocked firmware , youll just have to use unlocked model number when flashing and back up your device first as it will factory reset

I did it last week, worked perfectly. Use the patched version of Odin. Went from Verizon firmware to unlocked firmware, and sim card did the rest.

I'm in the same situation here. I have a Verizon Note10+ 5G and want to get calls/texts on my Samsung Tab S6 device so looking to flash an unlocked firmware onto my phone to get it to work. I followed the steps you posted, but Frija tool says it's unable to find the firmware.

My device was purchased directly from Verizon over 2 years ago. It's model name: SM-N976V and I'm in the US.

In Frija I entered: SM-N976U/XAA but it can't find it.

Any advice?

Update in case this helps someone else out there. I finally got call and text on other devices working on my phone, and I didn't have to use ODIN or load any other ROMS, etc... All I did was search for the Call and Text apk file and installed it on my phone. I had to go through a few different versions of the apk until I found one that actually installed and enabled the call and text on other device option in my settings menu.

It initially didn't work and I gave up on it, but somehow after install the most recent security update it started and I got a message on my phone telling me I can enable it on my Tab S6. And both call and text are working now! My guess is you need to install the apk first, then wait for the next security update for the phone which somehow allowed it to work. Honestly, I don't know how it's working, but I'm glad I finally got a feature that I paid for working (no thanks to Verizon for intentionally hobbling my phone)

Yes XAA is one you can use for unlocked or TMB/VZW they all the same unlocked firmware

So, it's a little goofy because I switched from Verizon a few months back so I'm using a different SIM now. It's not a T-Mobile company, but it uses T-Mobile towers.

I'm looking to enable the same feature, but, well, it's seemingly blocked by Verizon

it is a 5G phone, does that change anything?

This is one of the posts that I read that got me into modifying my phone so I just wanted to tell you guys about the tablets. Samsung doesn't make unlocked firmware for tablets anymore. So I tried flashing t mobile firmware on my tablet to get this feature but I forgot to clear the cache on my sim card so it said file corrupt and was forced to do a hard factory reset. So I did it with an old t mobile sim card in the tablet and it gave me this feature. To make sure verizon didn't get control of my tablet back I removed all verizon bloatware with ADB and also google partner services which autoinstalls partner (carrier) bloatware. So then I did the same with an old phone and it worked on that as well. Also be sure not to give the verizon apps permission to access your phone when you do the new setup.Hope this helps someone! Verizon is the devil!
