Samsung Calendar and Gmail Calendar and Tasks have all stopped syncing automatically since the 4.2.2 upgrade. When I go to SETTINGS > ACCOUNTS, I can see my Google and Samsung accounts as well as my Dropbox account. The Dropbox account does sync automatically. However clicking on the google or samsung account shows each of them to be "disabled". I can find not menu item or long press anywhere that gives the option to "enable" these accounts.
On my other 4 android devices running 4.x versions of Android other than 4.2.2 I do not have this problem and everything syncs with google and all other devices.
Any assistance would be most appreciated. Thank you.

YES. I did a search but either there is not other thread with this question or I don't know the correct monkey words to find it.

That sounds odd. You could try removing your Google account and then adding it back again. When you remove the account, you'll lose all of the Google data on your phone, but when you add it back again, it should re-sync everything. Can't say what to do about the Samsung account, though.

Well I found the answer in the ebook by cnet "Mastering the Galaxy S4". It seems that the default for syncing is "off". So on the S4 you need to go to the functions icon list and click on the "sync" icon. That activates syncing for all the installed apps that require it.
