I don't know, but I would be interested to know if people actually use this feature and how much it may or may not slow your device down? I have never seen a reason to activate it.

I figure either way I'll turn it on and see how everything runs. If I remember correctly you can't just turn encryption off you have to factory reset so better to try it now before I settle into the phone and then have to redo it all.
