Listening and that's not exactly the consensus. Everyone is frustrated with what Google is trying to do with Android. Why are they letting Verizon put crapware on the phone. Why are they getting strong-armed? Why does good allow Sense, TouchWiz and Blur?

It's difficult to say the GN is for consumers when it's not available. haha

I was only able to take 10 minutes of Miriam's (Not sure if that's the dudes name) random whining. Yet like anything else that is just a persons opinion. His opinion holds little value or ground in my book. What lets him decide what each device is? He is just someone who works for a gadget site and has no affiliation with either Google or Samsung. His opinion is useless.

Ive listened to this podcast several times. I had NO idea as well. Still having a hard time believing it.

But on that note. She is annoying and thinks shes funny.

I had no idea Engadget mobile was doing an early podcast today.

Re: Engadget: VZW version is for consumers, GSM version is for de

So let me get this straight, the entire world outside of Verizon gets a dev phone but Verizon customers get a consumer phone. That seams a bit backwards. GSM is by far the more common frequency band, and by default has more customers using it. It would be logical to concluded the GSM version should be the focus of a consumer oriented GN, and Verizon's smaller LTE market would be suited for a developer version.

How does everyone know that the Verizon nexus has bloatware on it. Did they say that somewhere. Also everyone always complains about sense, touchwiz and blur but you don't have to buy a phone from these manufacturers. If want android get a nexus.

I have an opinion!

^ It has "My Verizon" and "Backup Assistant"

So everyone is freaking out about it, its completely stupid.... imo

And no, just because it has two apps does not make it a Consumer phone or any different than the GSM version.

If anyone was running a company you'd see why they included those apps.

The 2 bloat apps are in videos and screen shots of the Verizon phone. And we are talking about the nexus here so getting this phone will still give you bloat.

And don't forget within 5 minutes we will be rooted and can delete the two from the phone. Its not really a issue.

Expansys is shipping unlocked 16gb HSPA+ versions of the Galaxy Nexus in the US today. So those of you willing to part with $750 can get one. I'm sure some people are doing that so that exclusivity was never realized.

Good job, Verizon.

I run a small business and, I don't agree with the practice. If I repair a customer computer or build them one, I ask before I put any kind of extra software on it.
