eNodeB and serving gateway connection?

Hi,
I am going through of LTE architecture. I want to know in which case enodeB communicate with serving gateway directly without interference of MME. Or eNodeB cannot communicate with serving gateway without MME interference?

The eNodeB communicates with MME for control (signalling) and with serving gateway for traffic. MME interference is only during connection setup where controls are exchanged. After that traffic will go directly between eNodeB and serving gateway. Hope that is clear.
