Entering account numbers into automated phone menus not working??

So I have tried to call 4-5 separate places (and some over them 3-4 times each) with automated telephone systems where you have to enter your account number. ie. a long string of numbers.

Each time I try to type in my account number using the phones keypad, its like the automated system isn't detecting some or all of the numbers I am entering. It gives me an error message and transfers me to someone is customer service.

However, it works just fine when pressing single numbers to select options on the automated menu ( Press 1 for ..., press 2 for ..., etc.).

Is anyone else experiencing this? It is quite annoying. It HAS to be the phone. Otherwise, I am quite unlucky/crazy.

I had the same issue. Go into the phone dial pad screen and go into settings. Look for DTMF Tones. Set it to long and try that. Worked for me.

I experienced this last week also. Was trying to call my pharmacy to refill a prescription, and I'm not exactly sure what it was doing, but it sure wasn't dialing the correct numbers that I was putting in the keyboard. I don't know what the issue is, but I sure hope they fix it!

Look up.

I've also had this same problem when switching my work extension over to my GNex via the dialer. Changing the DTFM tones does not address the problem for me. If that works for you, that's good. For those it doesn't work in addressing the issue it remains a problem.

I went ahead and posted over at Google Mobile Help with hopes of bringing some additional exposure to this problem.

Do you have the speaker phone enabled while entering the keys?

I know it is hard to not have it on speaker but try it without enabling the speaker phone.

I have posted an issue along my problem and waiting to hear if anyone else notices this Touch Wiz problem.

Device: Samsung Galaxy Nexus
OS: ICS 4.0.2

Yep its a real problem. My work clock-in and out is done over the phone and I have to deal with this everyday, lol. It rarely happens if you turn off speakerphone, so seems it has to do with the speakerphone causing echos that the service thinks is extra numbers being dialed, from what I've seen. Obviously it isn't always convenient to do those things without speakerphone though. Def hoping it can be fixed with a software update.

If you were in front of me right now I would kiss you. I've had this problem for months. Thank you so much. U have saved me a world of headache

Had this same problem with my Verizon Galaxy S 5 I am using on T-Mobile. Could not enter my password for voice mail, and have been unable to login to work phone calls. Voice Mail is working great now, hopefully the conference calling will be working tomorrow too. Thanks!

You're not crazy. I had the same problem. The only thing that worked for me was turning off "touch sounds". I did it thru settings. Go to sounds. Your menu might be a little different from mine. I had to go to " other sounds". I hope this helps.
