Epic $99 on Amazon!!!

It may have been. If you want a phone at/near release you have to pay full price. I could have waited for it to be free, but then I would have wasted all that time not playing with my phone :)

I've just accepted that I'm way too impatient to wait for most shiny new phones to become the free-with-new-contract phone and will usually shell out the big bucks to get it when it comes out anyway. The new price IS nice to have around the holidays though...I can think of a few family members that should have an Epic :)

Feralpanda, I'm usually that way, but I waited and got a slightly better deal than full price or the original subsidized price with the mail in rebate.

I know two friends who are hopping on the Epic bandwagon from the iPhone. The coverage issues in our area just got to them. But, times aren't great, so they were waiting for this deal to come back. I would have loved a 2-4-1 on the Epic like Verizon is doing with their Android phones.

Yeah I totally could not wait a year to get something I want... Mostly because by then I would want something else and I'll just be angry for waiting lol..
All phones will drop in price eventually, but if you want the newest then you just have to pay more.. I never see it as I paid too much but rather see it as ok cool that means I'll have another new phone first...

I need this answered quick if anyone has purchased a phone or the epic itself from amazonwireless..
If the phone gets damaged and whatnot, being that they have a $7 for this to be replaced, can it be done through sprint? or any problem that the phone has, i have to take it with amazon? o. O
as in, if i gotta get it replaced, i have to send it to Amazon?:/
Let me know! thank you

the 7 dollars amazon gives you for the phone is sprints wireless protection program. It costs 7 dollars; so, I believe if there was an issue it could go through sprint; but, even if it could not, amazon is a pleasure to deal with.

I wish they did upgrades!!!

As soon as they do upgrade+add a line we'll get 2.

It is back for $99 but it says "upgrades coming soon". I wonder what soon means to Amazon & Sprint.

Amazon.com: Samsung Epic 4G Android Phone (Sprint): Cell Phones & Accessories

Just to clear a few thing up, I have been following Amazon and their new Amazon Wireless since launch. They did this $99 special for one day back around the beginning of November. Ever since Amazon Wireless launched it has said "Upgrades and Add a Line coming soon.." this is roughly around 2 months now it has said that...

I even emailed Amazon Wireless asking about the upgrades and they have no real answers to give concerning when it will happen.

I really think its a ripoff that new customers coming over from a different carrier can walk in and get a $99 special.

I even talked to Sprint back about a month ago when I purchased my Epic's and asked them if they would price match Amazon's offer and Sprint's official reply was they have "no knowledge of these prices/offers and have no control over what 3rd party retailers set prices at...".

First of all I thought it was a bunch of bull in that statement because here Sprint has given authorization to them to wave "Sprint's activation fee" and is selling a phone on behalf of "Sprint". So this statement of having no involvement in this deal with Amazon is not entirely true from my standpoint.

I guess bottom line, you want the phone you have to pay the price and best to date since launch for "upgrades and add a lines" was Best Buy back awhile ago for $150.

So i took advantage of the $99 price and ordered my epic! Should be here dec 22.

Lucky you... Congrats.. BTW, if you have never been on Android platform before you will love it! I took came from a Blackberry Curve back about 2 months ago and I will never look back..

Have fun, welcome to Android.
