I don't know if it's because I wake up groggy and hit a whole bunch of buttons, but I'm fairly sure the alarm app misses alarms, doesn't ring when snoozed sometimes, stops going off if I don't get to it soon enough, etc.

Does anyone else have any issues with the stock alarm app?

If so, any good alternatives?

I would love an alarm app that was easy to snooze but hard to dismiss so I can't in a state of grogginess dismiss it instead of snoozing it.

Thanks!

The stock alarm has yet to let me down. I did use "Better Alarm Clock" from the market for a little while though. It has more options/features - you could see if that works better for you.

Thank to this faulty epic alarm, I was hours late to work one day for the first time ever!! I downloaded alarm clock plus whic let's you disable the auto dismiss and also set it so you have to do simple math to manually dismiss. Also has other great features. I wake up on time every morning now.

I need something very loud. I sleep right though the stock alarm. The stock alarm doesn't offer any differant alarms...

If you're using a task killer make sure that your alarm clock is in an 'ignore list' so that the task killer doesn't..erm..kill it.

I use alarm clock plus. It has tons of features including math problems before you can snooze or dismiss an alarm.

Stock hasn't let me down either! And for those with problems with the volume, try using your own custom MP3 instead of the stock Alarm sounds... and don't forget to check the volume settings - I don't remember where it's located among the Epic's sound settings but the Ringleader app in the market helps with all the customization for different sound volumes and types...

My original suspicion was most likely correct that there isn't really a problem with the stock alarm, it just doesn't work for me. In my morning state of complete grogginess, i often hit dismiss instead of snooze.

What sold me on alarm clock plus is the math problems. There's no mistakes that way for me.

And alarm clock plus works off of the stock alarm too. Haven't had an issue with alarms in android.

I have been using the alarm clock since day one with no problems. That is until recently. I have overslept three times in the last two weeks now. First couple times I was up pretty late and blamed myself for either setting something wrong, dismissing it or just sleeping through it. I had a very important meeting today and so I double checked everything last night and put the phone across the room. It never went off. I was very awake and upset with my phone so I paid attention when I turned it on. The only message being displayed was the battery is full message. The only new app recently is angry birds holidays so I don't thing that's the problem. I'm resigning to using my old pre for a backup until I can regain some confidence in my epic again. I guess I'll start with the plus app mentioned in this thread.

I've had issues not so much with the alarm not going off, but when I hit the snooze button if there was another message that it would dismiss instead of snooze. Just downloaded alarm clock plus v2 to see if that helps anything.
I've also noticed that if the alarm clock goes off for about 2 minutes straight that the alarm kind of shuts itself off. Hasn't really been an issue yet.

I use it with no problems. Just needed to adjust to it. I hope that they do update it though. It turns off by itself after a few minutes. But i do set up three alarms in 15 min intervals. I am a morning person though so by the first alarm im up and i just stay in bed waiting to hear the other two.
