Epic Email App Problems

I don't think K9 would be perfect for everyone, but it is by far my preferred client. Its quite customizable, and frequently updated.. if you want to sideload the updates.

Like DrSuSE said, it does rely on the server to support PUSH. But, push definitely works. I have Gmail, my own, and Yahoo. Yahoo is the only one that doesn't have working push. At least, it has never worked for me.

I have the same problem with the Epic not checking for mail every 30 minutes like it should. K-9 mail seems extremely buggy IMHO to use it so hopefully when froyo gets released it will be fixed.

My problem of not receiving new email with the Epic email client seems to be fixed. It has been over 24 hours now with no interruption in email service. I found a thread about the battery draining fast on the Epic and the solution was to switch to airplane mode and then back again. It has helped my battery issues somewhat but seems to have fixed email and slow GPS lock.

Hard to imagine how some of these bugs go unnoticed before release but all the smartphones seem to have their share.

My lack of consistent email with the Epic email app is back. I have tried doing a hard reset and no luck. I may give Maildroid another try or see if I can get Gmail to work for both personal and business email.

I like the pinch/zoom function on the email app but none of the other email apps seem to have it.

i had the same issue....but also gmail and hotmail were not refreshing on the set schedule... sometimes the manual refresh didnt work either...

i changed yahoo, gmail and hotmail's incoming/outgoing SSL setting from 'SSL' to 'SSL All Certificates'

this seems to have solved the problem and have gotten emails now at my set 15min for a day and a half.....hopefully this is a perm fix...if not, then will give Maildroid a shot...

I stopped using the Epic email app. Only using Gmail. Email is pushed. However, I like pinch-to-zoom (missing from Gmail?!) and the layout of the Epic app better.
