This ROM is for the DROID2 not the DROID1.

How to install:Important!
You will need to download Koush's bootstrap application and bootstrap your recovery. Then you can boot into recovery via the same app or you can install via ROM Manager(by rebooting into recovery, not via install rom from sdcard). Once you boot into recovery do a FULL nandroid backup and then you go to mounts and storage and mount /system manually to avoid more issues. Install zip from sdcard and toggle signature verification to disable. Now you can install the zip from the sdcard. Once this is done, reboot.

Dope. Did you leave the keyboard and camera? Those are the only 2 Moto apps I actually like

Its really not even the keyboard I care about. I just like the cursor feature. Oh well, I'll make a backup, run this, and if I don't like it, I'll just restore the backup.

I hope the media gallery is still in tact as well. Honestly, its just the dialer, contact, and social stuff that can hit the road. I have no use for the launcher or its widgets either.

I'm on the verge of flashing now. I'll report back with my thoughts

Would it hurt anything to install the Fancy Widgets apk standalone on a non-rooted D2 and without installing this rom?

Yep, I'm gonna roll back. This was my first time installing a ROM, so this was more of an exercise just see how easy it was to do it. Its about as painless as it was on my other Android phones. Easily the worst part of "Blur" is the bastardization of the contact list, and that is still alive and kicking.

To save other people the trouble of actually installing it just to know the actual changes, I'll try to list what I've observed:

The status bar is black, but so is the text, so don't expect to be able to read it
the stock launcher makes a return
Default Music Player
3D Media Gallery is back
Stock Android SMS app
all widgets except for the power toggles are gone
Moto's social networking stuff is gone-sorta
Bloatware stuff is gone-sorta
Dialer and Contacts still live (bleh)

The cursor, multitouch keyboard, and themed swype kb are all still present. That's a good thing. The default music player is back-which means no lockscreen controls-speaking of the lockscreen, its still the same. The good ol' original lockscreen would have been a MUCH welcome change of pace from the slow as snails Blur version.

The 3D Gallery is back, which could be a good, or bad thing depending on the person you ask. If you ask me, it would be a bad thing, but to each, his own. Widgets are toast-good riddance. Stock SMS app is an improvment, but I imagine most use either Chomp or Handcent anyway. Now, for the weird stuff...

I'm guessing this ROM was ported over from the X, because I now have a HDMI item on my settings screen. but that's not where the weird ends. Although the bloat isn't appearing in my launcher, the apps are still installed on the phone. Ditto for Moto's social networking stuff, even their e-mail client to which I am still signed into. I'm assuming this ROM just changes the name to keep them from appearing in your app drawer. I would suggest someone who wants to do that, to just do it themselves via their terminal. No need to backup, and flash just for that.

and finally, my Quadrant score dropped to about 1250, no bueno. Well, thats about all I have. Hope this helps someone decide whether they want to run this or not.

Nope. Fancy Widget is just a plain ol' .apk. Doesn't require any sort of hackery to get it to work on your phone.

Think I ran this for about an hour. Nothing was wrong with the rom I just like blur. Or I should say I like some features blur brings minus the slow launcher.
