Eric Schmidt finally made a response on Android patent issues. His response....

"We have seen an explosion of Android devices entering the market and, because of our successes, competitors are responding with lawsuits as they cannot respond through innovations. I’m not woo worried about this."
I just feel like he should be worried at least a little.

He later said he would make sure HTC would not lost which made made it better.

It's nice to see someone from Google finally speaking out on the issue. I agree that Android's competitors, specifically Apple in this case, are scared and instead of trying to innovate (which they had a great opportunity to do with iOS 5) they took the low road and decided to try to sue Android out on existence. Now it's time for Google to step up, protect they're OEM's, and put Apple in it's place.

I don't get how iPhone/Apple fans can think otherwise. I like some Apple products (mainly their computers) but come on people! Apple is clearly not innovating much anymore. They were behind on tethering, notifications and numerous other "magical and revolutionary" design elements. All they do is make the phone easy enough for a child. I used iOS for 2 years and even wrote for an iOS blog and I'm sorry but I am starting to really dislike the whole iOS crowd who is ignorant enough to think Android is copying Apple or that OEMs are scared that Apple is innovating and litigating. Apple stole numerous concepts from Android but yet Google doesn't cry like Apple. Apple has seemingly lost it's way over the years and turned from the underdog company who hated "bullies" to being a massive bully who obviously wants monopoly over the mobile space! I just wish someone would make a tablet worth a damn to knock the iPad (horrible name IMO still!) off it's stupid high horse!

Ultimately Google will need to step in and fight the good fight and stand behind the OEMs. It's partly because of them that Android has been able to flourish.

The iZombies can be pretty arrogant, but then Apple itself is an arrogant company. I will admit that Apple had a certain appeal back in the day when they were the underdog vs. Microsoft, but once they got a taste of success they're ego shot through the roof, Now Android is posing a very real threat to iOS, and rather then meet the competition head on they would rather bully and intimidate Android manufactures. Any respect I might have once had for Apple and it's supreme leader Steve Jobs is no officially dead.

Oh and I find it more then a little ironic that back in 1996 Steve Jobs freely admitted that he has no problem with stealing other people's ideas and now his company is suing HTC for supposedly violating two obscure patents from 1999.
