Erica Griffin and Jerry rig everything

I don't get any distortion or bloom when pressing the screen

I went to four different stores yesterday and seen six different G5's and they all bloomed with a little pressure on the glass! I was so disappointed

Don't know what to tell you but I don't see it

No ripple here. None at all.
Maybe you got lucky and have one of the fine and dandy ones.

The ones I've seen and used all had screen blooms when I applied normal amounts of pressure to it. :/

Not a good first impression, but hey. At least you got what looks like a good unit.

If a $129 Blu device is a lightning fast, uninterrupted, unadulterated, performance out the a$$ kinda device, then yeah. It's just like that.

build quality and specs are two different things. Massive light bleed, massive gaps and crappy plastic paint jobs doesn't change how fast it is.

To each their own. I think there's a lot of overreacting going on regarding the G5. It feels great to me, and I've handled both the gs7 and a gs6. Those feel great too, not bashing Samsung. Just saying, I like the G5. Doesn't make me right or wrong. It's just the phone for me.

Hey, if it's the phone for you, then you made a good choice, especially if it fits your needs. Unfortunately, the G5 doesn't fit mine. Combined with my failing G4 and I'm actually really interested in seeing what Samsung has to offer with the Note 6, since it's very likely going to be my next phone.

Did somebody say "MASSIVE GAPS"??

Seems to make more sense now.

But the weird thing is the type of primer they used. People who held the G5 seems to echo what I've thought. That the phone doesn't really feel like other metal phones, a prime example being the HTC One series, and many don't seem to like the feel.

I get that LG wants to try something different. But different isn't necessarily better IMO.

Also interested to know if your review unit has backlight bleed issues.

Most metal phones either have no coating at all or a clear coat. Either way, you can see the metal. Put a coat of primer and paint on most anything and it might seem like another material. I remember GM cars where the front fenders were actually plastic but unless they were in an accident and they cracked, you had a hard time telling for sure. It's similar to how we've seen some past phones that looked like they were metal (using a good quality metallic paint) when in fact it was plastic with metallic paint. This is just the reverse.

I think I remember one phone that had a brushed-metallic finish on its plastic body. Interestingly, it was also an LG device. The G3.

I can't count how many times I've thought about quitting this thread crap (for lack of a better word). Enjoy your own phone. Visit your phone's threads. Is this what we do? Visit threads to bash on other people's phones? May as well rename the app AC Flame Wars. I know everyone has a right to voice their opinion, but simple post for the sake of being negative are outrageous. That's pathetic.

I can see LG fan boys and LG employees have started extreme damage control.

This phone has to be the biggest flop of the year.

What phone do you have? What do you like/dislike about it? Why are you here, in this thread? Would you like to have a reasonable discussion about anything? My G5 is flawless. Many are pleased, some are not. That's the way things work. Care to expound? A post that's not obviously made for the sake of getting a rise out of folks?

Doing some more reading online, opinions/reviews. I found this and I can say this couldn't be further from the truth. Android Police said this is on EVERY G5. The misinformation going around online is kinda amazing. I know LG has some quality control issues and bad units are out there, but to publish that statement is absolutely ridiculous. This is not present on my G5 in any way, shape or form.
