I've had my Eris for almost a month now and I haven't had this problem until today. It's happened twice today where it restarted itself for no reason. I wasn't using it. I don't have any major apps up and running (just Email, Locale and Weather Channel, etc).

Any ideas why this is happening or how to fix it? I'd hate for it to cut out while I was using it as my GPS (which I do on occassion) or on an important call....

I'm having the same problem

It started happening just after I uninstalled Advanced Task Manager.

Edit/Update: I also did an update for my anitvirus around the same time. I uninstalled the antivirus program, and now it is working fine.

If it is Antivirus free 1.6.7 then I have just had the same issue on my Pulse and have uninstalled the offending software - just put a notice about it in the Apps forum.

It is Antivirus free 1.6.7 for sure mine started as soon as the update was finished and as soon as I was able to uninstall it the problem was solved.

I had the same issues yesterday... earlier the Anti-virus app told me there was an update, and I'd installed it, and started having the issues. I uninstalled the Anti-virus program, re-booted the phone, and installed the Anti-virus app again. No issues this time. ;)

Hmmm... I don't have the anti-virus installed, but haven't had it happen in a while either. Could have just been some odd deal with another app that was later updated.

I would strongly disagree that the Eris is a buggy phone - though would agree that Verizon is no help. The Eris is a new phone and all new phones have these initial issues - same with apps. Despite the little things, I am seriously loving my Eris.
