Android Central Question

It says firmware update unable to be completed. I've tried clearing cache partition and even did a factory reset at t-mobile's suggestion. Still getting errors. A couple of times it has mentioned "profile" rather than firmware.

Thanks! Will do all that for OMAD as well.

So basically we have to force stop in order not to be bothered temporarily, and then wait for a new Android update to solve the problem permanently? How long do you think it will take for a permanent fix?
Yeah exactly, most likely next update should come .

Did not work :'(
The phone just tried to update again.
And again at the end I got the message saying Android was successfully updated, and then Firmware update not completed.
Any other suggestion?
Ok go back same location for software update and scroll to system UI and system update and clear same things

Thanks for your patience, an perseverance!
I cleared data and cache again from the 2 software update apps, and only clear cache was available for System UI.

Would it be a good idea to disable permissions?

Yes system UI no option to clear data , but clear cache and force stop

Thanks Mustang7757! I'll leave the permissions alone.
By the way, for all the mentioned apps (2 software update, OMADM, and System UI) only Clear cache seems to have an effect (after doing it, it does show 0). Clear data and force stop does not seem to have any effect.

Anyway, do you think that this issue may be a red flag that something is wrong with the hardware?
I'm asking because it's a newly bought reconditioned device, and I am still on time to return it to the seller.

Force stop you wont see it but it restarts the app and data so no worries there , its not hardware issue more software but you should be fine .

OK, thanks. I left the permissions alone, went through clearing cache etc. for all the apps you mentioned so far, and ... the phone is still trying to update.

Can't go on this way till Samsung decides to provide a new update.

Do you want contact the seller while you still have warranty?

Let me know and I'll help u tomorrow

Sure. Thank you VERY much!
Probably will not be able to actually do it tomorrow, but I'd be happy to see your instructions, so I'm ready when I can spare the phone, or place the SIM in anther device.
Also, what's the risk to brick the phone or void the warranty if I do this?

No problem, no its stock Samsung firmware so you'll be ok.

Thanks!
So please go ahead and give me directions on how to proceed whenever you have time.
This is the steps :

There will be 4 files after you extract the firmware

Thank you VERY MUCH Mustang7757!
I was too worried that something could go wrong and I could no longer return the phone, so I moved all my stuff and replicated all settings in another s10+ and then went for a factory reset of the previous one.
In case it's useful, after the Factory reset the Android update seemed to complete correctly.
I noticed that the phone showed "Sprint" in some messages. Wondering if it were originally a Sprint branded model, then turned into a T-Mobile one, and if that's why there were issues during the update.

Since I have everything in order on the second s10+, I'm keeping that one and returning the first.
But I am also keeping your instructions, and will try them on an old Samsung, so I learn something new, without risking too much.
Again, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
