Hello!

For my DroidX2, I got this error when I try and add a contact:

Error: The application Contacts Storage (process com.motorola.contacts) has stopped unexpectedly.​

1. I tried going to manage applications and clearing the Data.
2. I tried deleting the "hotmail app" but there was no "hotmail app".
3. I tried installing "outlook app" but that didn't work.
4. I tried turning off and on my phone as well as removing the battery for a while, and that didn't work.

Wondering if you ever obtained a solution for the problem you entered?

I just ran into the same error message today, followed by a process stoppage, closing down the Contact Application, which appears same as in your thread title, but on my wife's Droid3 running Android 2.3.4.

same error here with my mum's phone, and she is located in Germany.
I made a factory reset today and it worked for about 4 hours. During those 4 hours I cleaned my mum's contacts via googlemail (merge double entries, add birthdays etc.). The contacts I didn't touch, are still working.
The phone is not rooted, no "unusal" App, actually my mum only has a few apps, all were updated today. There is no hotmail/outlook App, endomodo, Kakao Talk etc.
Any ideas?

thanks, I'll try to explain to her what she needs to do over the phone - might take a day or two before I can provide feedback.
However, when I had her phone with me, I deleted one App after the other without any difference, but it wasn't in safe mode...

Contacts are working in safe mode.
Will start the delete and re-install process...

Yep, if it's working in safe mode, there is an app causing the issue.

Hey thanks so much sd_shadow! Running it in safe mode for some reason allowed me to start adding contacts again! Thanks so much!!!

I ran it in safe mode and I couldn´t edit my contacts... but another app has stopped to. wunderlist. I will try to remove it and try again.
