"error uploading local changes"?

For the past few days I've been getting this error randomly. I also cannot view the pictures on my phone, it says "write access denied" when I do. It won't update to show new pictures. SD card photos are fine.

I have google play services disabled, but the problem started long after I did that. I've removed my SD card and given My Xperia administration access (I had disabled that).

I have a Sony Xperia ZL. Is there any solution to this problem? or is this happening to anyone else? I feel like it's a problem with google interacting with my phone but I'm not sure.

Welcome to Android Central! What happens if you re-enable Google Play Services? There is a big Play Services update rolling out now (6.5), so it's possible that some aspects of the system are expecting to see that. You'd probably have to wait for a couple of days after re-enabling Google Play Services until it auto-updates.

Are your photos in the cloud? What do you mean that the phone won't update to show you new pictures? Do you mean that if you take new pictures with the phone, the Gallery app won't show them? Try going to Settings>Apps>All, select Gallery, and Force Stop, then Clear Cache/Clear Data. Then open it again, and wait a few seconds for the database to rebuild. Does that help?

The album problem was partially fixed with clearing data. My SD card photos still won't show.

I have google play services disabled because of the battery drain issue it has with Sony, but I'll re enable it. The error is coming from google drive I realised, after a bit of searching.

Do you need Google Drive? If you don't use it, you could disable that as well. I would guess that Drive doesn't work well if Play Services is disabled.
