Es file explorer shortcut to folder

I am trying to create a shortcut to a folder on my sd card using es file explorer. I navigate to the folder and long press it then I get a checkbox on it. When I select add to desktop I get the error message no more room on this page. What's frustrating is that I was able to do this before for another folder but I can't find the thread that showed me how. Can anyone help?

Solved. It was some weird conflict with Nova launcher. For some reason I was able to add the shortcuts to the touchwiz homescreen only. I then uninstalled then reinstalled Nova and imported from touchwiz.

Recently, when I use the stock browser and try to Add A Shortcut via longpress menu button (and shortcut is supposed to appear on homescreen for the website I am on--) I receive the ERROR MESSAGE banner at bottom of browser screen, "No more room on this page"

However, I have 5 screens with plenty of room for a new shortcut icon, and my homepage/default homescreen is practically blank . I was able to use this Add Shortcut function regularly, until about 3 months ago-- when the error message began to pop up.

This is a galaxy Tab3 using Apex launcher, and I test tried on Touchwiz and I find the same problem exists there (yet I was previously able to do this without problems on Touchwiz too, just as w apex).

Tried diagnosing the error as being a result of some other change in that time frame. Did undo to essentially "roll back" all tweaks.. Appears it does not coincide with any new installation or download or modified launcher settings...at least not that I could trace back my manual changes to. Thanks for your help really apprecia t ed!
