Essential Order and Shipping Thread

I've still not heard anything after two inquiries. So I sent a cancel email. I was sooo looking forward to this phone and have publicly said so countless times. But this is a disastrous launch and I'm through playing around.

Naturally they will refuse to cancel and when they do I will dispute the charges.
 
I do not understand what is going on. I reserved the phone, paid in full as soon as I got the email on the morning of the 16th, going on 13 days tomorrow and no shipping email or anything..... now individuals that bought on the 23rd are getting shipping info.... what is going on?

I think they call that fraud! Someone or some company takes you money and does not deliver the promised product!
 
I really doubt my phone will make it here by Thursday at Noon.

Package is still in SHENZHEN CN with "Clearance in progress", I would assume that's customs check? that's 43 hours to clear customs there, be flown over, clear customs here, go through the Fedex distribution process and be delivered.

I got the same status, I would say the phones are probably already cleared and probably in the states already.

mine has said the same thing all day. really hope this is wrong or I might just refuse delivery at this point.
 
Ordered it at first day possible: Aug 16th.
It's now Aug 29th and no phone being shipped!!!
Even customer support switched to silent mode...😢
Big shame for such awesome product!

My tracking information says:

- Left FedEx origin facility SHENZHEN CN

So hopefully that means its really in transit now.
 
Really guys what did you expect from a company that started 18 months ago. This is the growing pains of a start-up.
 
I'm not complaining but I just got an email from Best Buy moving my shipped date to September 8th. Originally, BB told me September 1st.
 
my story is like everybody else's I place my order immediately and paid for both the phone and the camera and here I am awaiting with nothing I have emailed customer support so many times I can't even tell you how many and the only reply I got was from them telling me Oh when your order might still be in the process of cancelling but it's on the warehouse floor ready to ship if you like me to cancel it for you I can check that but I'm sure if you wait you will love the phone once you get it it's just a bunch of BS I don't care what the cases don't sell a product if you don't have it right or don't offer product if you can't deliver it end of story if I don't have something by tomorrow I am disputing the charge and it is fraught they can't charge you for something and not give it to you
 
As far as I am concerned - yep, they had delays but kudos for them to jump on this smartphone market which is owned by Apple and Samsung. Which other company has come out and made a device that is probably going to be what other smartphone makers will go do next year (Hello S9, G7!). Lets also not forget, Essential is doing the right things by not building an entirely different OS rather taking the route of pure Android experience.

Best Buy's website shows September 8th release date. Not sure what it said before.
 
To me their fault lies with not being upfront and honest with their customers. While sure many would've been disappointed, and some would have still gotten pissed, most would've understood. But instead they kept lying or keeping things purposefully vague and that really hinder our trust in them.
 
At this point, assuming someone wants to buy the phone now, would it be better to order directly from Essential or Amazon?

Amazon and it's not even close. The customer service at Essential might as well be non-existent. Supposedly my order is being processed, whatever that means. I went ahead and filed an inquiry with American Express and they'll look into it for me. I'm not closing it until the phone is in my hands or I get a refund. Also went ahead and filed a complaint with the BBB.

At this point, if I get a refund, I'll just get something else, because I am reluctant to support Essential.
 
And still my tracking number pulls up nothing on FedEx.com. This is probably the most frustrating launch I've ever been a part of.
