Good Morning has anyone found and good cases or screen protectors for the ph-1, or does this phone really not need anything. Amazon has some tempered glass and uninspiring wallet cases at the moment. I would feel better with a bumper case like I had on my Nexus 4 and some tempered glass. It will never happen but a lifeproof case for when I am at the pool or beach would be a dream come true. Not enough units to make that happen thougj

I looked at the top rated iPhone glass screen protectors. then found those companines that make one for the essential and got it.

the issue with a case is that it will cover the notification led that sits just above the screen. I am going to rock mine naked and find a nice leather sleeve case for it.

Second question. Any pouches or cases that would work for the 360° camera? I don't know if they will send anything with it and don't want to scratch the glass up with it in my pocket.

I looked for Bluetooth 5.0 adapters when I got the S8+, there wasn't anything I saw that had good enough ratings. I settled with a 4.1 adapter and it never fails to connect.

I don't think the 360 camera is meant to be attached to the phone 24/7. To be used when you want to use it, if you are talking pouch cases for the essential. Look at them for the Galaxy S5 according the a size comparison webpage on phone arena they are .1 away from being identical in size. Which is exciting because that's the perfect phone size for me.

I'm just looking for a case for the 360 camera only. I know if I leave it floating around in my pocket or bag I'll scratch up the lenses.

I haven't heard of a case for that specifically. I did Amazon microfiber sunglasses pouch, that might be what you are looking for.

As an FYI the Halnziye Tempered Glass Screen Protector off Amazon is a piece of crap. All the edges have a bubble no matter how much I try to press them out on the phone.

Google to know, I picked up the sparin tempered glass. According to Sprint my pre order should be here tomorrow. I will relay quality of the sparin.

Essential PH1 Smartphone Case / Accessories

Its abnormally difficult to find a case for the PH-1
The Mr Shield Glass Screen protector do not fully cover the screen or stick at the outer edges! Looking like the screen has a very slight curve at the edges.
I like the phone alot. But the idea of essential is that the phone is the users. But not being able to get a case kinda makes every Essential phone the exact same.

The phone was designed to not have a case at all. Why they went with way better materials. You have to have a case with an aluminum and glass phone. This is titanium which is a hell of lot more durable that aluminum. Ceramic is also very durable.

You always have the option to out a skin on the phone as well. Watch the drop tests for the phone and tell me you still need a case.

Post link for drop test. I haven't found it yet

The only drop test I have seen is on the Essential website.
And that video is definitely suspect. How long can a phone possibly skip around on edge before it falls. Hell, a few times, the phone actually floats!
I've never seen a drop test with results...

Not a screen protector or a case, but for the pool or beach, put the phone into a plastic bag that zips closed (or presses closed - same thing). Then put that bag, open side first, into a second bag. That may not protect the phone from falling into a 6 foot deep pool (you have to check different brand bags - some will protect the phone down to 25 feet, which is the deepest I ever tried), but it will definitely protect the phone against splashes and that sort of thing.

As for a screen protector, some companies still sell "you cut to fit" plastic protectors. They aren't scratch-proof themselves, but I used one for about 3 years and never had to replace it because it never showed any scratches or signs of wear. (And it does offer just a tiny bit of shock resistance if the phone is dropped screen-down).

Gorilla glass is insanely prone to scratches. Simply putting an S8 in your jean pockets will result in micro scratches. So a screen protector is an absolute must.

Personally I will want a bumper case for this phone. Something very very thing, perhaps silicone. That will be a huge help in regards to drops.

The SPARIN tempered glass cover available on Amazon is a total failure. The design of the Essential Phone seems to not be completely flat around the edges. And so the tempered glass protector cannot lay flush all the way around.

I think it's going to be a very difficult thing to find a good glass cover and that's a shame. I think they are, for lack of a better word, essential.
