For me first and foremost. KEEP THE BUILD QUALITY. Keep the squared style. I love it. Keeps it different than everyone else and feels amazing in hand.

Then I'd like to see. More storage, OLED screen, better camera, more ram and dual stereo speakers. Those would make the next phone a awesome upgrade for me for sure.

A great list, for sure! I too really love the form factor of the Essential. Hope they keep it for Essential Phone #2 !

Even BBMo/TCL have made it to a second and third phone AND I believe they sold more phones than Essential. Not bad for a company and it's brand name owner that everybody wrote off years ago....

True, but this story is all over the internet.... Wouldn't you think Rubin would of clarified by now if they weren't true? No new phone.

There is a much easier solution to this problem. Just eliminate the front facing camera altogether. Surprised no one thought of it yet. Oh that's right...a selfie camera is an absolute necessity. Lol.

Personally I'd take a large uninterrupted screen with a clean thin bezel over a useless selfie camera any day.

I'm not going to tell anyone how to use their phone. But you might want to get off your high horse about the front camera- video calls are quite useful for a lot of people. Don't mock others just because you don't do those.

From start to finish it doesn't say ANYTHING to refute that the owners are looking to sell the comapany AND have canceled the development of the PH-2. When a major respected news organization reports that your company is abandoning its products and its business, you either confirm the report or deny the report. In the absence of even a weak denial, Andy has confirmed that the report is totally accurate.

I unloaded my Halo Gray two days after I heard the news for 85% what I paid. Now using the Pixel 2 which doesn't have the best design but the overall experience (camera, signal strength, speakers) is much better.

I just ordered a mint Gray off of Swappa. Comes with Amazon receipt. I miss my white one and the gray will hold it value better than black or white so... The price was nice and low.

STILL going to look for an Ocean Depths.

I love the look and feel of the PH-1 for sure especially in Halo Gray. But the T-Mobile reception issues is a huge deal breaker.
