Ever had a great phone you just couldn't gel with?

So, I have a smartphone that is damn near perfect for me: waterproof, beautiful 1080p screen with vivid colours, superb 20mp camera with amazing video stabilisation, expandable memory, incredible battery life, brilliant sound with built in noise cancelling, fast, fast charging via magnetic dock, stunning stereo digital audio microphone....

Yes, it's the xperia Z2.

I really struggle to find fault with it. BUT I just can't stop fixating over the galaxy S5. I had the choice when I upgraded, and after a lot of umming i finally chose the Xperia. But now I really want an S5. I have an old S3 which I love, and some reason I just can't seem to click with the Sony. I know, if I take a hit and get an S5, I'll probably regret the exchange but I can't stop drooling over it.

It's driving me barmy!

Anybody else felt like this over a phone or other gadget?!

The OnePlus One was a great phone, but due to being too big and not very good signal quality, I had to sell it, it had a lot of things going for it.

The (rumored) specs for the Nexus 6 seems amazing too, and made by Motorola, but the (rumored) 5.9" size completely invalidated it for me.

Z2s sell for a good penny. Why not just sell it on your own and get an S5? You can get an S5 cheaper than you can sell the z2 for depending on where you live. Or maybe just offer a trade. If someone really wants a z2 it could be a win win! And yeah I know your feeling. I feel like that with my g3. Great phone and I don't really have any problems with it, I just don't want it. What can ya do

It's funny because I actually have a GS5 and I want to upgrade to the Z3

Well I would weigh the options
I made a pro-con chart for the main flagships of 2014, and then compared the best ones together. It works really well and stresses the key points. I personally think the Z3 (maybe z2 as well) hits more key areas than the S5 (design, speakers, camera, battery, etc)

Codeda - I could maybe get £250 for the Z2 on eBay. I may be able to find an S5 for that, maybe not. In town the shops are selling both for £350 ish.

I do think that the Z2 is superior. It had more useful features. Admittedly, it doesn't have a built in electronic wind melon rotator though... By all sensible logic I should be happy, the battery is a marvel. But I'm not! Yargh!

I do. I love my Nexus 4 but love everything about the 6+ more. Only problem? I don't have the cash fight now as I am a student and might get a job this year.

The grass always looks greener on the other side...
Yep, pretty much sums it up. My tech addiction cravings start getting out of control at only about 6 months after my last purchase. That's all that's happening to you, OP

Lol, I am in the same boat. Student, no job and still rocking a Droid Razr M, I wish the iPhone 6 wasn't so darn thin, I feel I might break it if I get it.

Well, I did it! I finally weakened and for a good deal on a swap. I now have an S5! I'm really happy at the moment.... No doubt I'll start to moan about it in the coming weeks...

I love it though. I got a brand new S5 with no box for my five month old slightly tatty Z2 and a bit of cash which I'm happy with.

Camera is amazing, as is the screen. I think the reason I didn't get on with the Z2 was the way it felt in my hand.

Ha! Oddly enough, it being thin and light is one reason that I want it.

You know what I wish? I wish the government had a funded event once a year where you get the phone of your choice for free😝

I felt the same when I had an iPhone and then the Galaxy Note was released. I thought I had my perfect phone with the jailbreak but the Note included everything I could want so eventually I upgraded and never looked back.

Cleaned up some posts. Let's keep it on topic.

I haven't found a phone that I like more than my m8.

The new z3 has me looking but won't budge till next spring. If you Sony keeps doing the 6 month thing with them it will be interesting to see how the z4 stacks up against the m9 or whatever HTC is releasing then.
