I have been reading your posts and am so excited for the EVO release!! I missed the pre order and had some questions about if I was to come into the store the day of the release, I was wondering if I could talk to you about it? You really seem to know what you're talking about and haven't received much info from the Radio Shack's around here.

So I just called my RS and they said they would be opening up at 6am on the 4th. I asked if they would be making appointments...they said yes they would start making appointments later today. I asked if I could just make mine now and they were nice and said sure...they asked what time I would like to come in and I said 6am! Duh! He said how about 7? What? Which is fine, but the question is for you RS managers and employees would I be able to walk in earlier like 6:30 and them get me set up? I just can't imagine anyone in my area flooding the place, it's a smaller community.

Can we save the $20 accessory credit for later? Seems pointless to have to purchase an accessory as a placeholder just to return it later for when HTC finally ships the accessories for the phone. It also seems like a massive fail on the part of HTC to not have these accessories ready for launch. I really want the car dock and some sort of pouch to carry the phone in the pocket.

However, I might want to get the Jawbone Icon - what exactly can be combined together? There is the $20 credit, the 15% off, and I have the $10 coupon off $40 for filling out a survey.

No, you cannot save it for later. Only at the time of purchase. Sorry :-(

It works as a credit on the ticket. In other words, you spend at least $20 on accessories, and you will get $20 off.

If you are wondering if we will have any extra handsets, the answer is yes.

However, the quantity will be very limited, as RadioShack really concentrated their resources for the pre-orders. If you show up at opening time, whether that be 6am or 9am (sometimes 10), you should be able to get an Evo at the store.

Well, 30 days for exchange, 90 days only applies if its defective for repair or replacement at the stores decision.


No, RadioShack return policies are 30 days for return and 90 days for exchange or repair. This does not apply to cell phones, though, just everything else.

You have 90 days to exchange a product that is in re-sellable condition. 30 days to return it.

I read somewhere that Radio Shack will be getting approx. twice as many phones to sell to the general public as they were able to take pre-orders. How accurate is this? Or will they even be getting any extras at all?

They will be getting extras. And just like error4 said, they might/might not take your business. I am sure that RadioShack will not turn you away, but the 6am time is meant for those that pre-ordered, so if you do show up at 6am, and the store id dealing with pre-order customers, you will not be attended right away.

Hahaha. Yes, we gotta push those batteries! I don't think they're overpriced if you buy the 4-4-10 deal. I think that's a great deal, actually. Those Enercells are great quality batteries. Manufactured by Energizer.

The one by my house (College Point in NYC) is opening at 6am. I walked in there yesterday to ask about the $20 accessory coupon that is supposedly arriving via mail to my home. They don't have a way of tracking why I haven't received the coupon yet, but they did say that even if I don't have it, they could probably honor the discount at the point-of-sale anyway.

Since I was the first person to have pre-ordered, I had the pick of the litter (in terms of timeslots) and requested to come in at 7:30am (I'm not as diehard as some folks... that extra 1.5 hours of sleep I will enjoy ;-) ). I'll keep you folks posted.

Lastly, there were no demo units. Do other RS locations have demo units yet?

I'm afraid it's just going to be the screen. However, I was playing around with a Demo Evo, and if the screen invisible shield covers the entire front (usually they don't) then you won't need the full body. The back is made of material that is kind of difficult to scratch and get dirty. Trust me, i tried to make it dirty.

But again, if the screen one only covers the screen itself rather that the entire front, I would get the full body one. The front is all made of shiny materials that get smudged easily.

estebancam, maybe you have answered this b4, i m kinda struggled if i should get ZAGG screen protector, since a few user mentioned, it's thickness, and kinda sticky. So i m kinda concerning that it will impact screen and lower responsive. Since you have some experience already, what do you think about ZAGG invisible screen protector for EVO?
