Evo 3D call quality patch?

So to anyone who has changed this codec are you seeing less battery life?

Not seeing anything different then what I have been getting. I took the phone off the charger at 7:30 am this morning and have talk/text/surf internet at work and right now as of 5:10pm I have 70% left. Doesn't seem to be an issue so far.

I will definitely confirm that calling Sprint and getting my msl # was worth it. Voice quality on both ends has improved. Sounds about as good as the Nexus S I returned within my 30 days to get this phone.
Thanks for all your inputs. I called Sprint. I spent 30 minutes with the tech, trying several options and we could not improve the call quality. Along the way, I asked her about the MLS, she gave it to me. She set up a ticket for me to take the phone to a service center. However, after finishing the call with the Sprint tech, I tried using the MLS and changing the set up and it worked. The instructions that I followed were:
1. Dial ##3282# on your dialer
2. Choose Edit Mode
3. Enter Your phone's MSL (call Sprint CS and ask for yours)
4. Choose the Advanced option
5. Scroll down and change Home Orig and Roam Orig to EVRC-B
6. Don't forget to hit menu and commit changes your changes

Actually all of my calls so far have been loud and clear. Or maybe too loud last night talking to my friend in California (also on Sprint) I actually had to turn the speaker down. Connectivity so far has been superb 0 dropped calls and steady internet browsing as well. This in Raleigh/Research Triangle Metro.
