evo 3d price point

I am now doubtful about $199 due to what Verizon is pulling with the Charge. Droid Charge is pricey, but its 4G flies. $300 ouch. And the specs don't compare to the 3D in my opinion. Unfortunately we can't count on any price until it is announced.

Verizon isn't sprint. Verizon doesn't have a $10 4g charge either. I don't know the price point but I don't think we can expect it be the same as Verizon. Sprint might see their price and say we can do better than our compitition.

The charge has a larger SAMOLED screen (than what we've normally seen, sans the Infuse), seemingly more expensive. And comes w/ 32GB of flash. Given the 3D is only coming w/ 8GB, I don't think we'll see it over $250. It'd be suicide for Sprint/HTC.

I hope you are right, but assuming that Sprint will price at $199 along with the rest of the "crowd" is as much an assumption as mine. As I said, we can only wait and see.

I'm sure that is why they are banking on, but there are many phones with some, most or more hardware specs than the Charge that aren't "charging" as much. Prices are seemingly all over the place.

I'm as hopeful as both of you, but Sprint has shown me that it will make changes to boost the bottom line, despite their customer base. I'm sure ranting and raving will ensue but my examples are the $10 "premium data" fee that would only apply to 4G devices last year now to apply to all and changing the "premium" status of many customers before their first year anniversary.

First and last Sprint is a corporation who has to look after itself and its investors not necessarily us the customer base.

I had to laugh about this though. I spoke to a co-worker of mine today (An iPhone user) about this very subject and he joked that I'm enabling Sprint buy buying a new phone every year. LOL I guess he's right.

the SAMOLED is not larger, they are both 4.3". The Evo 3D has 2 more GB of internal storage, twice the Rom, twice the Ram, dual core processor, higher resolution display. The Evo 3D could probably pull off $300 ( i hope its much less) but the Charge IS suicide at $300!

With the Nexus S and Echo at $199, I can't imagine the EVO at that same price. I'm guessing $250 - $299.

@ charlesmvaron
As to your questions regarding Netflix... I believe any current HTC phone or Windows Mobile 7 loaded phone will be compatible.

As to the EVO-3D I just jumped off the T-Mobile nightmare and am content with my rooted EPIC until the Ice cream phones start rolling out this winter or next spring. If you must get something now keep in mind that if Sprint backs up what was discussed at Google I/O then possibly the original Evo will get Gingerbread so having a current OS could be possible with the older phone and as a bonus you wouldn't have to wait... but whats two weeks in the big scheme of things?

@ original poster... not a penny over 250 with contract, but cash I would pay 400-500 if it lives up to the hype. I presume the OS will be polished but battery life will be a HUGE issue... most likely gonna pass.

Yes, I understand that reasoning, BUT... People want the NS4G to get a "pure" android experience and most wanting that won't care about paying same price as the 3VO. They'll still believe their's is the better phone. The Echo, is a new beast all unto itself, and will see its price drop before long like the EPIC has been for a while now. Also remember that the Pre (bless its WebOS heart) also stayed @ 200 (if I remember the comments correctly) when the 4G went on sale, and we know how THAT story ends, right?:)

And - taking the 'fact' that it has been reported the 4G being on sale at BB for 150 (can't find 4G or Shift on BB's website right now, hmmm), and yours truly just cfound it from Walmart for a cool 100, I got to think the prices are dropping on the 4G to "make room" for the 3VO.

So I believe it WILL go for 200, but it won't surprise me (and probably won't deter me) if it reaches 250. As most have said, if they go "Charging" up to 300, they'll lose, and subscriber numbers will retreat.

sorry, I meant the charger has a larger than normal 4" SAMOLED screen we tend to see (ok, sans the infuse). Not to say I think it's worth it. Just trying to see Samsung/Verizon's justification for it.

Ok, I gotcha. I agree. They could probably both survive at $250, but $300 is too much. $200 would be nice lol, but it seems prices are rising

I called my Sprint store earlier and he said there giving 150 back for the EVO cause I mentioned Radio Shack and them giving you a 100. He said the instant rebate is still going on until 6/4 which is when were hoping the 3D comes out. But now we know it's 199 which is great. But I just watched this video here and it made me want the phone even more. YouTube - ‪CTIA 2011: Sprint HTC EVO 3D Hands-On Demo‬‏
I was a little unsure cause my EVO is great and all but I am getting low on space but after seeing this video now I can't wait to get the 3D.

I don't understand some of you guys..why are you not happy with a $199.99 price tag. I sure don't want to pay more and honestly it shouldn't be any more. I see a lot of references to Verizon's thunderbolt and charge as to what to expect the E3d's price to be, but you should remember that those 2 phones come with lots of memory(which is expensive).
Thunderbolt-8gb built in +32gb microsd
Droid Charge-2gb built in +32gb microsd
Sprint on the other hand does not put as much memory in its phones. The 32gb microsd card is worth $50+ itself so that is likely where the extra money is put towards.
