Hi Everyone,

I did a search everywhere I can think of and couldn't find the information I'm looking for So i'll ask the question here.

I have the Evo 4G and it has the latest updates and it's not rooted, it's all stock.

I would like to know if anyone has had any experience activating and deactivation the hot spot on the EVO by going to there online account?

What I would like to do is activate the Hot Spot when I want or need to use it then Deactivate it when I don't need or want to use it. Of course I wouldn't try to do this all in one day but say like activate on a Monday and deactivate on a Sunday, like for a vacation week or something.

Any help or advice would be Great.

I have a friend that is on Verizon and he says he can do this on his Droid.

Thanks,
HamRadioNut

Previously (before rooting) a Sprint rep told me that this is possible, but you have to call customer care to make the wireless hotspot change over the phone. She said she had personally done this for 2 or 3 days at a time while travelling. Sprint apparently prorates the monthly charge. Only problem is that it's a pain to keep calling customer care to make these changes.

However, if you root then flash Cyanogenmod onto your EVO you can use the WiFi hotspot for free. No calls to customer service required. :D
