EVO 4G LTE 3G Speeds

For those of you fortunate enough to have your pre-order device what kind of 3G download speeds are you experiencing? Do you think it's better that what you had before? I have a EVO 3D in Dayton, OH and only average about 300-500k. 3G and Wifi is more important to me since I doubt my city will ever see LTE speeds; we never saw WiMax 4G speeds. I can't wait until the Sprint stores start releasing in-store pre-orders...whenever that will be?

Could all of u stop comparin the wimax rollout with the lte one clear was in charge of the wimax sprint Samsung Sony and others are handling the lte roll out so expect faster results and lte in places u didn't have wimax

Pay attention to the original subject. I'm asking about 3G speeds wise guy, the LTE and WiMax was just a statement I made not a comparison. That comment was addressing the fact that my city never saw WiMax and will probably be slow to get LTE.

One of my tests in Fort Wayne, Indiana got me 3G download of just over 2mb this afternoon around 1:00. I was shocked - I have *never* seen that kind of speed on 3G on my OG EVO.

You never commented on your actual 3G speeds, so whatever bro. Your comments are old news and have been discussed on this Site since the LTE vs WiMax rivalry first began. However, being that you just joined AC in March of this year...I'll cut you some slack. It's similar to the Beta/VHS, HD/Blu-Ray rivalries. Most people know WiMax lost that battle for numerous reasons and that the LTE network will be a joint venture with many companies making contributions throughout the country. Look, I'm not knocking you bro and to your point, YES, I hope my city will be included in the LTE rollout, but don't try to take a shot at me and act like you were reporting any breaking news. Knowledge is power and i'm well informed. Read up: Network Vision Explained - Sprint 4G Rollout Updates And for those that didn't know, well now you know. Play on playa.

I live in Dayton, right next to Huber Heights and Riverside. Give me a minute to test, and I'll edit this.

EDIT: They suck. My record shows a max of about 850, and that was at 11 PM.

Is that with your LTE....geeez???? Sadly, I get better than that on my 3D. By the way I'm in the Heights too, right off 202 & I-70. There's a tower right by that Meijer's (if you know where that's at). I hope they upgrade 3G in our area soon.

Sitting on the banks of the Mississippi River just south of Red Wing, MN - nowheresville...with awesome 3G speeds!

To be in the middle of no where those are some of the best speeds reported. I'd love to have a half of what you're pulling down. Sweet!

Well, sometimes being in the middle of nowhere is the only place you will get some of the best speeds- no competition! Of course, it was 7pm on a Sunday, which probably helps too :) I would kill to have 2Mb/s download!

First off I loved that part of your comment. Lol second, I agree with you on your disappointment about the wimax. I also never seen the benefits of 4g in my area. With this new LTE, I am praying that it makes it to buffalo, ny. But if it doesn't, I will make sprint pay by overly using my unlimited data plan. Lol
