ok..so i got this htc evo with a bunch of phones,..they all seem to work except this one,..first time i turned it on,..it came on and booted,...but once i got to the welcome screen ,..reboots and would keep rebooting after 5 seconds...So hit the volume down and power,..hboot and clear storage..sucessful ..reboots and still no luck. Am i new at this whole android scene but am good with good instructions. I also went to the recovery in hboot and it would just reboot and continue the cycle,..sometimes it will freeze at the HTC eVO screen. So i downloaded the PC36IMG and it would install just fine,.but would continue the reboot cycle....When i connect it to my desktop.....it picks it up as android 1.0 when i use the fastboot option. Now i have heard of being able to add recovery through this method from my pc....

CAN SOMEONE PLEEEASE...give a step-by-step instruction for dummies how to flash or add a recovery from my evo being connected through fastboot to my pc...or anything else i could try to get me back to stock, rooted or something other than the rebooting HTC EVO SCREEN....patiently  ...PLZ HELP...thank you in advance

Yes. I'm here to help.

Custom recovery download link (From my Dropbox)

All righty, for instructions: put phone into Fastboot. Connect to PC via USB. If correct HTC drivers are installed, you should see [Fastboot USB] in a red background with white lettering. You need 3 files to flash anything to your phone via Fastboot. You can get those files yourself at www.htcdev.com or wait for me to give you a direct link to them from my Dropbox. Once you have those 3 files and the recovery all in the same folder, since you're Windows 7, you would hold down SHIFT + RIGHT CLICK on an empty space of the open window and an option to "Open Command Window Here" should become visible. Once the window opens, type "fastboot flash recovery "*insert name of the recovery you downloaded EXACTLY AS IT IS NAMED!*". Here's an example (this won't be the right command!) fastboot flash recovery wcxrecovery.img and then hit ENTER and if your bootloader is unlocked, you should see the words "OKAY" twice from the command prompt and a bar in the top right corner of your Android phone going up. Hope I helped.

Hi to Everyone,

I'm in misery over my Evo Design 4G (Sprint). I'm in a continuous reboot loop where my phone will show that white screen with HTC in green font, then black out momentarily, and then go back to that screen over and over again.

Now I have a spare battery with it's own charger so it's not a battery problem. I alternate batteries and charge both fully yet still the same issue.

My Hboot screen goes back to the same problem whether I choose the "recovery" or "factory reset" option. It makes no difference.

Here is what my Hboot screen says at the top.

Were you able to solve this issue, I am currently facing the same issue. I think it requires the stock RUU for sprint
