evo calendar

And can two such layers be a Google Calendar and an Exchange Calendar (via Active Sync)?

"Pure Grid" from the Android Marketplace or Appbrain.com is what you are looking for.

There is no native Yahoo calendar sync in Android. But there are workarounds and apps that will do it for you.

Just received mine today. Thanks for the screen shots. I've got mine set up now as well. Just gotta figure out how to change the colors that are associated with each calendar now. =)

Interesting...I can't seem to find how to do that either. Seems odd to not allow that to be customized. If you find out anything, let us know!

So you can change calendar colors, but in the MONTH view, you can't see 'at a glance' what you have for that day? Way back when, I loved on my (Palm) how I could look at the month and see when I had "kid events", "clients", "medical appts", "girls night out", etc.... all just by the color coding. I also had icons! I'm surprised Android doesn't have this......

hi everyone. new droid user here ..years and years a palm devotee. i finally decided to break to the evo..how is that for a leap?!! anyhow my life functions on the palm calendar..especially the feature where you can highlight a contact (in your phone contacts) and it appeaars on your calendar complete with the persons phone number. i schedule for business 20 appts daily and not always recurring. i am not a tech type person and am struggling with how to adjust to a new calendar. a lot of the lingo i do not even know..widgets vs apps etc. i certainly intend to do the work and figure this stuff out..i also am not a kid ..and feeling like a dinosaur today especially reading through the forum. so i ask you guys..anyone who might know the palm calendar features in a complete way particularly that feature linking the phone contact to the calendar..could you guide me to a useful product or point me in the right direction?? i am carrying around my old palm and using the calendar until i find something suitable. i wrestled with leaving my palm for quite awhile because of this. i do not have the ability to use my computer during the day to add these appts or look at my calendar..i travel a lot and need the phone to do all this stuff...i have the evo 2 days and am feeling so lost with this. love the rest of the phone but if i cant get this together i dont know what i am gonna do..i have 27 days to make a decision..if i cant make this work i have to return this beautiful phone and i still think eventually palm is going to drop off the face of the earth (despite many loyal people) so i have to find something as a substitute. the blackberry is not for me..as i am too adjusted to the touch phone aspect ( i had a palm pilot back in the day so there is no turning back ). i love my service provider (sprint) for my area so have held off on the iphone. i also use gmail so that wasnt a huge leap to the android for me. any help from you younger folks who are on the cutting edge of this technology would surely be appreciated!!! thanks in advance for any direction you provide!! pam

The calendar is the only area in which I feel the Evo isn't as strong as the Pre. The Pre's calendar was brilliant.

From what I've seen of 2.2's calendar, it will be closer to what we Pre users were used to, so I'm holding out for 2.2 before I buy any new calendar app. I think the 2.2 calendar will be what we're looking for.

Does anyone know how to put a regular Google account and a Google apps account calendar on?

Under Accounts, I see both Google accounts, but only my primary gmail account has a calendar listed as a sync option, the google apps account only has contacts and email.

Found a clumsy way to do this for all interested:

First, manage your google apps domain, go to settings > calendar. For "sharing options" choose: Share all information, and outsiders can change calendars.

Then go to your google apps calendar and add your primary gmail account as a user to share the calendar with.

It will appear as a 2nd calendar on your phone, but it's not under accounts & sync > google apps user, thus my use of the word, "clumsy"
