Grabbed my Evo 3d off the Htc Dock today and powered it up. The screen is grey with all different colored tiny pixels. I took it to Sprint and they said they would replace it but not till next Tuesday! Anyone heard of such a thing happening to the Evo 3d?
 
That suck man.. My Girls Evo 3D screen Pixelates a lot with lines through the widgets... I wonder if it will eventually lead to what happened to yours??
 
Wow that looks bad! I bet your screen is shot. Its awesome that Sprint is taking care of it for you! How long have you had it??
 
They wont replace it till Tuesday.
This is why I kept my EPIC. In case i am in a situation like that.
 
Had the phone since launch. Gave me no signs that this issue was coming. I had it charging on my HTC dock powered off. I turned it on and the screen was like that. Wondering if the dock had anything to do with it.

I am going to another Sprint service shop today to hopefully get a new one. Let you guys know what happens.
 
Wow that's scary! You may want to make sure your dock didn't cause it before you put another one in it. I hope you get your replacement quickly.
 
I went to the Sprint Corporate store about an hour away and they made me order one instead of giving me one they had in the store. I also had to pay 35 bucks to get it sent to me and I would have my phone until early next week. Should I call and complain?

YEAH that wouldn't fly with me! I would be pissed... call sprint and tell them how you feel about how you were dealt with.
 
Yeah, you shouldn't have to pay for anything if the phone is damaged. Shame on the corporate store.

I take it you didnt have ESRP/TEP. If you are outside of your 30 days and dont have ESRP TEP its a 35 dollar repair/replacement fee and they have to order it from a warehouse since itll probably be refurbished. The warranty is through the manufacturer not through Sprint.
 
Yes, Its from HTC. Just seems kinda unfair since the phone broke because its faulty. 35 bucks is better than 500 though :)

this is why i pay for the insurance through sprint. i would suggest looking into it. If you had the insurance you would have walked out of that corporate sprint store with a new phone in hand for free. I gladly pay 7/mo for the best insurance, also covers lost/stolen/water damaged (with deductible but better than paying retail price for replacement)
 
Just happened to me with no warning.. Opened an app, and it froze, so I hit back, then home, and the screen did the same as yours. Tried taking out the battery to reset it twice and no luck. Going to Rogers tomorrow. Had this since September 10th.. So less than a month. :(
