EVO Losing some SMS

ok...weird problem!

I have sent and received a few sms messages to four people now. Some were initiated by me, some by other people. The last conversation I was in (the other person started it) I get notification on the top pull down bar, but NOT in my messages folder.

When I pull down and reply, the message sends but the conversation / thread is GONE from my phone. The message folder shows nothing!!! anyone else having or heard of this????

figured it out...was only happening with Google Voice messages. I had the "background data" option turned off like everyone recommends, and that was stopping my notifications. FYI if anyone else has the problem.
