EVO LTE Issues/Problems you are having

For the person who bought the phone for LTE capability, if u don't have LTE coverage in your area then u should have done your homework before buying the phone and complaining

Well in defense of that no one had LTE until very recently and I think its pretty poor planning on sprints part to release an LTE phone with absolutely no network to support it.

So, you would rather have a phone that would not work on LTE when it comes to your area?

Before this phone cane out, sprint had where all the LTE markets would be starting to roll out so like I said, ppl should do there homework before buying something without knowing what thwyre getting

Not to mention that sprint continues to show city maps with full coverage LTE when it is anything but.

Only issues I have with this phone is that Pandora won't play. The app came up and music was there but it didn't play. Found a link on the net and downgraded it. Now it works perfect.:D

I'm having the same issue I think. Maps, gmail and the stock browser all freeze with a white screen at least once a day. I've tried killing the app, clearing cache, killing sense, etc. The only thing that fixes it is a reboot. I guess I'll try a factory reset and see if that helps.

I had the same issues, finally did a factory reset 2 days ago. So far so good, just annoyed that it needed such an extreme fix.

Yeah but let's be real here. If your gonna offer an LTE device you should bring the network to as many areas as possible not just major city's. I can understand in extremely rural areas where it wouldn't be cost effective but our city's network was sprint and I had about a 4 block radius area where I could get WiMAX on my og evo. That's just crap. I like the LTE regardless of whether or not I get LTE locally but sprint should step it up. I'll still hold out hope.

One friend of mine told me that the LTE digitizer sensitive is not fluent enough, he often can't get the right position.

my wife's Evo LTE seems to lose 3g randomly. We switched the network setting to CDMA only and it has helped a little but the problem isn't fixed completely.

Has anyone had any luck getting it resolved by switching phones? That is what I was about to do as I thought that she just had a bad phone and found this thread... Now I wonder if it isn't a bigger issue...

Has anyone called HTC & if so, what did they say?

Thanks
Doug

Ever since the OTA i can't get the gmail, play store or Maps apps to work properly.

gmail freezes at a white screen, the app store freezes when i try and select gmail to leave a 1 star rating and inform the developers.

driving me nuts. tried clearing chache, reboots, reinstalls everything i can think of.

Uninstall/un-update Google Wallet. Fixed it for me last week. (10/1/12). Not sure when it will be safe to put Wallet back on. I saw the W logo in a store yesterday and would have used it...

I have been problems with the dialer not recognizing/finding my contact list. I'll go to send a new text message or go to make a phone call and start punching in numbers or input a person's first name and no contact info will pop up. It's been quite annoying.

Anyone know how to get rid of the Voicemail icon that appears in the notification bar? I can't seem to figure out how to get rid of it. I have checked multiple times, and I have no voicemails. They are all deleted. Any help would be awesome, Thanks!

I've ran into this on my Evo LTE and also my old Samsung Replenish. I had to call from another phone and leave a short message. Once it notified me, I could go in and delete it and it would reset the notifications. I don't know if there's another way or not, but this worked for me. What seems to have caused it was hanging up too quickly after deleting the messages. Now, I try to wait a few extra seconds after deleting the last one.

I have multiple problems.
1. My roommate has the GS3 and she gets barely any service like me but here phone still does data things like send pics and get on social networks. We both have the same service sprint and the same plans. My phone will only send text messages. It is super slow. I've toggled the cdma/lte and cdma only as that is what the guy at the sprint store told me to do and also turned off the optimizer.
2. My phone will not aux with any car stereo but will with a home stereo.
3. How to get my phone to attach an actual document instead of a link?

1) on the Gmail app when trying to copy text you used to be able to just click on the highlighted text to copy it to clipboard, now you have to go down to the bottom left and click on the icon to do it. This is only on the Gmail app.

2) The menu button will be sorely missed. Now the menu for each app appears, depending on the app, on a different part of the screen, as opposed to having it always on the same spot.
The "Recent Apps" button is UTTERLY USELESS! With the original Evo, you used to be able to press and hold the home button and see the most recent 8 apps without having to scroll at all!! WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?? (WERE THEY THINKING?!?!)

3) The text app, and for that matter Handcent and GoSMS DO NOT show the count for the unread messages, neither on the icon, nor on the notification bar, UNLESS you actually scroll down the notifications, then you can see how many unread messages you have.

4) Gmail app used to be awesome with the original Evo. Not only did it show the total unread messages you had but also, if you marked a message as unread (even a very old message), whether you did it from the phone or even from the computer, you would get a notification as if you just got a new message! Where's that?!?!

5) Sync seems to be having its own issues as well. On the regular email app, if I set it up to sync email every 5 minutes, it takes rather about 10-15 mins for the emails to come in. Original Evo was prompt at that...

6) on the regular email app in order to be able to go to the next or previous email, one has to first click on menu and only then do you have the "next" or "previous" option, unlike on the original Evo.

7) When already on max volume and want to make sure you still are with the volume rocker, you would hear a sound with the old Evo, now you got nothing are have to actually LOOK at the screen to make sure you got it to the max.

8 ) No option to play YouTube videos out of the YouTube app when clicking on a YouTube video on the browser.
That was a given with the original Evo. Annoying as hell on the LTE.

9) You MUST use both hands when holding the phone vertically if you want to have access to the whole screen (if you're laying down or sitting back on a sofa, for example), otherwise you will be unwillingly hitting the volume rocker or needing a chiropractor for your thumb. An issue which could be avoided with a gel cover, but could have been foreseen by HTC when producing such a smooth non-grippy back to the phone.

10) Gmail and Tasks are incompatible?! I mean, what's the point??

11) The regular email app can only be accessed a limited amount of times per 15 minutes? I already got quite a few of those error messages...

7. My phone does make a noise when turning up volume

Anyone else have this happen?:

Sometimes when taking pics (holding down camera button for burst mode) it sounds like the phone gets stuck in burst... when it finally stops, there are only one or two pics taken.

This only happens sporadically for me, other times it works normally.

Change the limit it limits to twenty and when my phone was limited it would only take two then I turned off the limit it would take multiple

I have had so many dropped calls its ridiculous, missing and lagging texts, lots of roaming warnings when I have verified with Sprint, i am not roaming. When I do get a 4G connection, its rare - 3G is unusable on this phone for some reason even though it worked decent enough on other handsets in the same area here in central Houston. I'm on my 3rd replacement phone - techs keep telling me its my antennae. I asked for a completely different replacement phone and they offered me a Motorola Photon. I kid you not.
