Brought by evo to sprint because of the above stated problem. I could call out and text out but no calls or texts were coming in. Phone is stock. Dialing out was the only way my txt messages would arrive in my inbox. The sprint guy tells me that its because of google voice and that I have to disable voice and delete it. All the other sprint zombies all nod in agreement "yup yup that's it, get rid of google voice". Prior to this I called sprint and the tech told me it was a network issue. I told them that it can't be because my wife's evo sitting next to mine works just fine, she still insists its a network problem.

I end up deleting "voice plus" and fixed my own problem. I've never heard of google voice being a problem like this. been using it for at least 2 or 3 years. Am I being harsh when I say they are all a bunch of clueless idiots?

Yes to the idiots. Gv is likely having issues because sprints network changed somehow so blame google. They were the first to go full integration and could actually get google to help with tech support. Wonder what they did to google to lose that.

NOPE.. I never integrated GV with my device. Its a NV upgrade issue.
Started with me in November last year, 4 network trouble tickets later and 3 months of "dealing with it" and i jumped ship to T-Mobile.
Happened on my EVO LTE and GS3, we tried account refreshes, account modifications, ESN swaps, then got escalated. I had some nice people from Oklahoma i think, in their network division troubleshooting with me. They did indeed find many times where the network would not pass calls / text to my phone even though it showed connected to the tower and system.
Like the original poster, incoming calls and texts would fail. All data worked fine. Im in Dallas, TX and at the time i had some LTE connection. Switching to 3G only didnt help.
Making an outgoing call would reset the issue but it would come back in a few hours, or sometimes a few days. At the time this was happening to me i saw a few sporadic posts about similar instances, one in Fort Worth, Chicago and somewhere else up north. It wasnt a widespread issue but it stumped them. The only resolution they could give me was when Network Vision was complete in maybe June or July my service might return back to normal.
I hope they have better luck helping you.
On a bright side, T-Mobile is working out great for me. Im saving 30 bucks a month, have double the minutes, same unlimited texts and 4G data with no cap or slow downs.
In fact, i am having the best data speeds ever on a carrier and LTE is "coming" to my area this month. Im actually glad i tested the waters with another carrier.

I never integrated gv with my # either. I kept my gv # and my regular # separate.

I was having a similar problem on a none android phone on my account. It ended up being the number was still listed as a land line.
