So far, really good!!! I like it better than my Incredible, mostly because the screen is superior in the outdoors. As for the front camera, once there's a way to use it with Skype, it'll be practical.

4g s-s-s-sucks!

I constantly have to turn the 4g off in order to download or update apps. The new update kept turning my 4g back on. Kind of annoying knowing I pay an extra $10 monthly for the "4g experience".

Agree w RAF: the longer i own it the more I like it. (btw-if that's you in your avatar i want to meet you ;b)
Coming from Blackberry Curve the haptic (vibrating) keypad rocks. I'm getting faster and faster with that, especially compared to the bb. I wish there was a way to select multiple emails for deletion/marking as "read", maybe there is and I just haven't found it yet.
I ran some tests on the "hotspot" bc I have a Sprint Broadband card which I'm dropping...virtually the same speed from speedtest.net and I'll save $20/mo when you add Sprints $30 + $10 fees compared to $60 for broadband card which is another phone line.
LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT

@dwilli57, when you are in your list of emails, click on the check box on the left side of each of the emails you want to delete, then click the delete button on the bottom of the screen.

Just turned my EVO in. After getting the 2nd gen I Phone I noticed the lower quality screen and it just bothered me. I think I might wait for the samsung or something else it if it comes out. I was as hyped as anyone and I still like the phone but to down grade your product with a lower quality screen ( from novitel - to epson.) The color contrast is noticable.

I can't believe this this is a phone...coming from a flip to this...holy moly!

Haven't even added apps yet! One thing I did like about apple is double clicking the home button and being able to kill applications running...but I found the Running Services with google and have been happy.

Love it!!!!

The more I play with it, the more I love it! My EVO, that is! It is just amazing. And, the more I do play around with it, getting to adjust all of the settings, adding new Apps, the more intrigued I am at what it can do. I did root my phone and have enabled the free wireless wifi and have used around 25GB so far and still have four more days until it renews for the next months tally. I think the screen is awesome. YouTube HD videos look incredible. Pictures and video quality are great. It is all about the tweaking, I guess. But, that is what I love to do with tech stuff. Also, I really don't know how I rooted. I have tried to start all over and using Parallels with Windows 7 on my Macbook and it will never work. But, I do have root access and have downloaded and paid for several things that only work with root. Like Clockwork Mod. Anyway, I don't think you will have any questions that it is a high quality, high tech phone. I do love my Macbook, iMac, and Linux Ubuntu running laptop, but I don't think I would ever consider an iPhone as Sprint beats all others when it comes to their Unlimited service plans. I don't have 4G, but 3G seems to be faster and I am running my phone and 3 computers. GO TEAM EVO and a BIG THANK YOU to all of the Android developers...........it wouldn't be the same without you!!!

I hate my EVO I am losing sleep over this thing it's keeping up way later than I need to be the reason is because this thing is so awesome I can't put it down and ok I really do not hate this thing.

I came from a Palm Pre and the only thing I miss about my Pre is the ringer switch that shuts off the volume and puts it on vibrate. now I just add the widget that does the same thing so I'll get use to it. I was going to write a list of what I like over the Pre but I just don't have that kind of time and this post would be way too long.

This phone is just plain awesome.

I love my EVO. I"ve had the first Iphone that came out, and the 3GS, and I"ve also had regular sprint phones for the last 10 or so years.

Many of my friends have the IPHONE 4, I have held it side by side. I nor all my friends cannot understand the mentality that believes the IPHONE display to be superior to the EVO's. It's like comparing a Big screen TV with lower resolution to a rinky dinky computer monitor with fantastic resolution.

Theres no comparison really.

If your looking for a small phone that holds your hand the entire way, and can do some other things, and want to be one of the cool kids on the block, then the IPHONE 4 is for you.

If your looking for a device to get work done, watch videos, read a book, browse online, play games, customizable, and has more potential, but is also still a good size to be a phone, then the EVO is for you.

I've had my EVO for about a good month now, and at first I was slightly dissapointed with the app market because I didn't know any good apps and some of the pictures looked fake. Then the Sense UI didn't really appeal to me. So, I went on google to do some reasearch. Went on Youtube to do some research. Now, my phone is packed with apps, I'm using a differnt laucner which suits my needs, camera and video are flawless when it comes to focus and effects and taking pictures/videos. I love this phone. On top of that, with this phone I convinced one of the doctors I work with to get an android phone and my co-worker to switch from his Iphone to an android phone. :) I feel successfull

evo trip

Just took a 5k road trip with this phone covering the nw quarter of the us. The large screen size enabled me to leave my laptop in the bag the entire trip. The ability to use navigation and the cameras at the same time was great. The photo quality and ease of use were excellent. This device represents a milestone in technology, providing an alternative to the laptop. The Google voice technology is astoundingly easy and accurate to use, and came in handy all day, every day. If it is practical for you, this phone delivers on all fronts. I love Apple, hate Ma bell, so this device finally gave me game changing tech in big way. Could not be happier, waiting for Skype to get it together:-)

No way in hell would I rely on a cell phone for trip pics or any pictures that are important to me

best phone I've ever had!

was thinking about the iphone or the evo and I'm GLAD I made the decision to get the evo!

one thing I don't like is the picture taking button is a capacitive button on the screen. that really sucks

and the pictures in low light seem to be pretty bad

but other than that, it's great

My mini review.

Let me start with this, Yes I gave the battery life 5 stars. The reason being (in all honesty) for the size of the screen and the sheer power of this device I think it get's exceptional battery life. Especially compared with my ex-smartphones, There were quite a few...
Anyways, this device is super quick and responsive with everything I throw at it, Which is a lot at times.

Let us start with email: All of my email accounts sync perfect with the HTC mail app, including my exchange account at work which is a definite plus. I rarely use my computer anymore for e-mail because of this. Also if the HTC mail app isn't your 'cup of tea' there are plenty of others on the Android market to choose from that work great depending on your needs.

Now let's move on to the web browser: One word. Awesome. It works flawlessly for me so far whether I'm on secure banking sites or extreme gadget blog sites such as Engadget that have a ton of pictures. Also the 4.3 inch screen makes surfing the web on your phone fun again. Also if your not digging the stock web browser there are plenty of alternate ones in the Android market. If your into tabbed browsing I suggest the Dolphin HD browser. It's quick and fun once you get use to it.

Let us talk a little about the Camera: Personally I think the photos come out great. This is not a DSLR by any means but it definitely replaces my point and shoot pocket camera. The photo editing apps in the Android market are great and lots of fun. The flash will practically blind you, which is great for those dark adventures especially if you download a flashlight app. The downside is the video it takes isn't as great as the stills, But its still perfect for some fun Youtube videos here and there.

How about that Form Factor: I love the sleek design of this device. It's manly, yet sexy. It fits perfectly in my hands or in my pocket. Don't get me wrong it's on the verge of 'too big' but I think HTC got the size just right. I like the small touches of red and the kick stand is a definite plus in my book. Its classy with the gloss black on the sides yet less likely to slip out of your hands because of the rubberized back.

The Screen: Superb! This thing is almost all screen. The sheer size of it makes me smile (Giggidy). Honestly I think the colors look vibrant and don't see what some people are complaining about. Small text is easy to read. It's very bright I usually have it on 50% and that's perfect whether it's light or dark outside.

Performance: This thing is a beast! But let's be honest if your going to be using it for a lot of 3D gaming or you like a physical keyboard you should probably lean more towards the Samsung Epic 4G that's coming soon. Don't get me wrong I have a few 3d games on it and they look great all around but from what I'm hearing the Epic is more of a game oriented device. I myself prefer the touch keyboard and if I really want to play an intense 3d game I'll sit by my PS3 or 360. So far it plays the 3d games I downloaded perfectly though and all other tasks it flies through. I rarely have to wait for anything to pop up or load unless I have a ton of stuff running and 'Lookout' (From the Android market) scanning files.

As a Phone: It's great and the speakerphone is loud! It works great the few times you will actually use it to make calls. But seriously superb sound quality for the caller and the 'call-e'. and great reception.

Why only 4 stars for media you ask?: Well there are not a whole lot of video file types that will play on this device, Which is not because of the device itself but the Android OS. But they are all fairly easy to convert to mp4 just time consuming and repetitive.

Conclusion: This is a great phone and I recommend it to anyone looking for a top of the line device that does it all (well almost) and does it well. Oh and the speaker on this thing is loud! so you can probably toss that alarm clock.

evo screen issue

Stuck pixels. Very annoying! Went to the shack where I bought it, was told they could give me my money back or order replacement with no time frame of arrival. Anyone else had this screen issue? Would otherwise be happy as a pig in, well you know, 4g, with this phone.

Gotta give it 24 stars - Bluetooth control is seriously lacking. Also today calls were not going to the headset properly and I ended up having to using it at the ear, which seriously slows me down.
