Evo Problem, Version 0002 + Txt message + Pic attachment

My first thread here with an actual problem.....if my memory serves me well.

Thing is my wife and I are loving our Evos. She has the 0002 and I have 0003 hardware versions. I don't know how much bearing all that has on this actual problem but figured I'd bring it to the table and see what you guys thought.


The problem lies with pictures opening via a text message thread. When she receives a picture and wishes to open it....instead of doing so, it directs her to another txt message thread with another contact. We try this multiple times with no success.

I don't have this problem. I can receive a picture in a text message thread....press the picture and it opens it right up....no problems.

After messing with this quite a bit...I power cycled her phone, opened up the thread....went to the picture, clicked it and what do you know....it opens. I tried opening it several times and it worked. Buuuuuuut....after she texted back and forth with several folks I figured we'd test it out again. After sending her a pic attachment in the thread we had going....she tried opening it and it resorted back to those problems. She clicks the picture and instead of opening the picture it directs her to a text messaging thread she has with another contact, never ever opening up the photo.

Very weird. What suggestions, if any, are there? Thanks!

Unless there's a fix...I'm thinking about returning the phone to get a replacement.

Why are you thinking about returning? if you got a problem return it! There's a software update coming out but I don't think its for that. I have a 0002 I don't have any issues yet! (cross my fingers). I know there's a shortest but if you make it known, at least they can order you one before your 30 expire.

Thing is...it's not THAT big of an issue. It's still an issue nontheless and she doesn't want to have to power cycle the phone every time she gets a picture attachment.

Anyhow... have you tried doing a hard reset? After I did mine, my phone was behaving much better, although I still have the problem of the mysterious "scroll down to the bottom" issue. When I look at a text message conversation and scroll up to look at some older messages, sometimes the phone just scrolls straight back down to the latest message. It's a minor annoyance, but whatever, I can live with it. I am getting a new phone soon anyhow since mine is starting to lift it's screen.
