I just replaced my EVO screen and for some reason it wont read half of the screen i dont know what to do and if someone could help me out that would be very nice cause i am actually fed of with this

Dont worry guys its not like i just asked for help or anything...

With an attitude like that you won't get help...you did post after midnight so chill.

Andvto answer the question, take it back to sprint and have them fix it or make an insurance claim and get a new one.

asd216 is right... you posted late at night on Memorial Day weekend!!! There are always a ton of people on this site that are more than willing to help, but.... attitude will just end up putting people off from helping or tryig to help you.

Now that being said... you also need to give us a bit more info on your problem. Things like what method did you use to replace your screen, a link is always helpful. Also what screen (ie... what company did it come from or a link from where you ordered it) you used to replace your screen.

Also what hardware version your eVo is 002, 003 or 004. This will make a big difference as to what digitizer you need. 004 hardware versions of evo's use a different screen than earlier versions.

Now, not knowing any of the above info the best idea that I or just about any one on this site can come up with.... you must have done something wrong.

I've never replaced a digitizer or the glass that protects it, just not that mechanically inclined. But I can give you a few ideas as to what "may" be causing your issues.

1. Maybe you picked up the wrong screen for your eVo.
"Heres where what HW version & what screen you have would be useful."

2. Maybe you missed a step somewhere. Like missed reconnecting a connector or not connecting it right.
"Here's where knowing what method you used would come in very handy."

3. It could be possible you broke your replacement screen installing it.
"Again, what method you used and what screen type would be helpful here"

Hope you get your eVo up and running again.

Yes, Sounds like a ribbon cable is not seated completely or properly. Probably the Digitizer cable.

Geez... Where did you go? It's not like we are trying to help you or anything...

Take it to Sprint and pay the $35 (or nothing if you have TEP). Sounds like it would be you're easiest way out.

Nearly 100% sure the digitizer on EVOs are all the same. And it's the middle of the 3 cables. Other than re-seating it (pulling it out and plugging it back in), there isn't much more to troubleshoot on a digitizer.

Total Equipment Protection. (TEP)

This protection (should) cover your phone in the event of damages, etc.

It's the $7 you pay each month to Sprint... if you have this coverage for your device(s).

Okay so i called Sprint and they told me i have TEP but will they deny if i replaced the screen myself?

I replaced the speaker when I had my EVO and they didn't second guess it when I had them do it the second time, and they also didn't say anything about it being rooted either...

I'm assuming you got the new one on there properly. They aren't going to care, especially a Preferred Retail ASC (3rd party). They get paid to help you out. They will replace it or get a refurb sent down. All I can recommend is being nice and working with the tech. If the screen looks ok, they can replace it by mail. May have a digitizer in stock. Just tell them it quit working.

Okay guys i feel stupid cause i just talked to my friend about my screen problem and he was telling me that i should of put adhesive on my screen and i told him i didn't have any but when i went to go look back at the package i realized it came with adhesive so now my new question is could the adhesive make a difference lol?

All the adhesive does is hold it in place. makes no difference on functuality.

I attached a pic of the ribbon cable you need to check.

i have tried to put the ribbon cable in as best as possible but nothing seems to change. I even plugged in my old screen to see if it would work and it didn't work either. I'm gonna try taking apart everything and putting the adhesive on the screen if that doesn't work then i hope sprint has better luck then me :P
