EVO SDCard mount problem

I have an EVO and can't get my SDCard to mount. I think it is a card format issue. I was getting a lot of SDCARD damaged messages. I could get by them by rebooting. I rebooted and copied everything to my mac. On the copy it said there was a problem with the "tmp" folder. I thought I was deleting the tmp folder from my backup, but actually was the SDCARD copy. I rebooted and then unmounted the SDCARD, and tried to reformat. It gives the Format SD card, then erase everything, and then back to SD & phone storage immediately. Mount SD card does nothing. When I reboot, I get SD card safe to remove. I am running amon_RA (RA-evo-v1.7.0.2) recovery, Burnt Droid 1.0. Nothing in recovery that accesses the SDcard works. I do not have a card reader. Cannot access the SDcard from anything. I am thinking about returning to stock and taking to Sprint for them to format card. Any ideas before I do this?

Sounds like a problem for our ROM hacking gurus so I am moving this thread over there

Later,

Do you have another phone you can test the SD in? Or maybe try switching ROMs? That will narrow down your problem.

Toast, thank you. That did it. Actually, I went back to stock. That fixed the sdcard and then I rerooted. Back in business.

Toast,

For future reference, how do you do this? Can you flash from other than the sdcard? If so can, you point me?

If I'm understanding correctly, you want another way to put a rom on the sd card without mounting it,,

just enter adb and push the rom to the sd

EXAMPLE: adb push c:\example.zip /sdcard

My ROMs are always in c:\ if yours aren't then just type the directory it's located in. C:\ is my recommendation though

Unfortunately, that was the problem, I didn't have access to the sdcard. I have to flash a new rom or restore a nandroid backup from somewhere other than the sdcard. I guess RUU is the only way.

how did you return to stock without the SD card? Your nandroid backup and the ROMs would have been on the SD card...

it may be the card itself. my phone has already killed one card, but i had another one handy. do you have a card reader for your computer or another card you can try in your phone? that is what i did until i went to the sprint store and they gave me a different (not new) SDcard.

It has been working since I reformatted it. Will keep an eye on it. Did you un-root to go back to Sprint or didn't they even look at your phone?
